I have invited my friends to start our night out for my birthday from the tavern lodge. Got few drinks, ordered some food. We were sat by the dj table. My friend went to ask if we could be placed somewhere else or turn the music down a bit...and this is when it all started. Person who called himself a manger-Vino said that we didn't book a table and seemed to be stuck on this subject instead of letting it go...the table was free anyway when we got there. I didn't know that the lodge became exclusive vip place that you had to book a table well in advance to even enter the place. The guy started being fixated on the fact that we didn't book a table and that there is nowhere else to sit us. We said that it is fine, told him to calm him self down as he was aggravated (clear issues with anger management) and that we will finish our drinks at the table we had. He refused (sic!) and said that we cannot do that because we 'started complaining' (quite ridiculous reason). When I told him again to calm himself down he called security who surrounded me and my fiancé. They didn't do anything as we were calm and our voices were not even raised. Honestly they looked surprised that he called them and were not sure what to do. After of going nowhere I couldn't take this nonsense going on and on on my birthday and in front of my friends and family! I told the person who calls himself a 'manager' -Vino to refund me the money for the food we didn't even have because I didn't come to be assaulted on my birthday and that we were leaving (after having 2 sips of our drinks!) and guess what-he refused!!! So I left telling him politely that I will describe everything on Facebook. He then followed me outside and waved at me like I would be his mate to come back. I didn't. One of my friends said that she will not let him to treat us like that went back to get the money back. After hearing some swearing towards her she managed to get the money for food only (that we didn't even had-because the situation escalated so quickly) back because the person who again calls himself a 'manager' (Vino) made her to promise him not to write anything on social media...I do warn you for your own sake and your friends - think twice if you planing to go there, you are risking with your night out being spoiled, and being treated like thugs without reason, by some unstable individual. The level of professionalism and overall approach is disgusting and appalling. If someone told me that story, I wouldn't believe it was so grotesque. There are much better and customer friendly pubs around. We went to The Drapers Arms (used to be Oneil's) and had a great night, the staff were welcoming and wished me happy birthday! All my friends and family will never go there again and whoever reads this should either! Believe me.. Don't go there if you want to have a good time and be treated with dignity!

Read moreFabulous little place, we called there for a meal before heading off to a gig. Lovely atmosphere, very laid back and chilled, there was an outdoor seating area with lights and comfy seats.
The gentleman serving behind the bar was very friendly and polite, was recommending different ciders to me and our food was out very quickly.
I got the seafood platter which was amazing, prawns, calamari, crispy fried whitebait, smoked salmon and garlic bread. My dish came with tartare sauce and a little mixed salad which was refreshing and crisp.
My partner got the home style chicken burger which he loved! He particularly enjoyed the chips.
Our two mains, along with a cider and a lager came to £36, so excellent value for such good quality food.
My one issue would be that the bathrooms are very much in need of a facelift but that's my only gripe.
We only stayed in Uxbridge for one night but we've already decided that when we go back, this place is our first stop for a...
Read moreFirst time visitor yesterday. Atmosphere was good. Music was great. Price of drinks ok. It was a shame that on leaving, one of the security team decided to manhandle a guest who had picked up his jacket and accidentally knocked over 2 or maybe 3 bottles that were on the table. The treatment of this man was disgusting. If it had been someone who had a temper or a weapon it would have been an even nastier end to the night. Security teams need to use their commonsense. If not able to do that, they should find other employment as unnecessary actions can make problems. I was told that the CCTV would be checked. As far as I know, the individual's details were not taken so will he receive an apology? Thank you to the witness that came forward. It's unfortunate that my review is based on the security but the experience...
