The location is really good as it is opposite Ealing Broadway station so a good, easy venue to find. It is also well signed from the outside and the colours (red & white) are distinct.
It is not somewhere I would return to too often. Not because of service simply because it isn't really the kinda place I would frequent, nor does it offer the kind of food i would normally choose. As it is heavy on the carbs!
Was taken there and it felt a bit of a mash up between Wendy's, an American dinner, and a motorway service station! (I obviously haven't bought into the marketing).
The service at the point of ordering was patient yet basic. It was ok as the team were polite and pleasant but you could see that this was fast fast food, getting through to the next person. Understandable, but as a customer paying a good amount - more service is required!
The tables and decor feeels a bit tacky and 70's. Basic high use and rather similar in feel to what the losers would get on The Apprentice! So yes I think a bit more investment in comfort should be there however the business probably wants to encourage people to "eat & go" rather than "eat & chill" so it probably works.
The food wasn't quite to my taste as it was all rather salty for my palate however others with me loved it, so it is a matter of taste.
The decor around the walls left something to be desired. Mainly from GQ magazine so was maybe a little sexist in that the magazine is for men!
I think it might be good for loads of mates to go, and/or families. Give it a try maybe i am not the target audience. Not for me but certainly has a place on the...
Read moreForgot my umbrella the previous night just before the shop closed. It was virtually impossible for someone to have gone in and take it, considering there are passcodes for toilets.
Came back the next day, there was this white-haired lady who first went and asked, and then a few seconds later she was back condescendingly insisting, no matter what I was telling her, that no umbrella was found. I mentioned it was only a few minutes before the shop closed, I asked if she really believed someone might have taken it. Her response was something like "we don't need umbrellas", as if I was insinuating that the staff had kept it, which I very clearly was not (I was being very polite throughout). I asked if I could go to the toilet and check myself, and her response was like "why would you, what's the point, I was there half an hour ago, we always clean, anything we find we always bring it outside bla bla bla". In-between all this, she kept ignoring me to serve customers. I was almost about to leave, but I turned back once more. Then she went back and asked her colleague again, who calmly came out and said "we didn't find it, but my manager is currently already taking a second look", just as the manager came out with my umbrella in his hand. The lady was like "oh, were was it?"
She tuned to me and raised her hands like "oh, well...". Honestly I'm not a bitter person, I'm happy that I got my umbrella back and I would not be writing this review if she had at least apologised. But that treatment was beyond awful. Surely one of the worst service experiences...
Read moreI visited Five Guys today, and there were both positive and negative aspects to my experience.
On the positive side, the food was excellent as always, with delicious burgers and fresh fries. The restaurant was clean and had a great atmosphere, making it a pleasant place to dine. The staff were lovely and provided quick service, which is always appreciated.
However, I was disappointed by the price of a refillable drink, which cost around £4.20. This seemed quite expensive for what essentially felt like a watered-down version of the original drink. It would be helpful if they could offer more reasonable prices for drinks.
Additionally, it might be a good idea for Five Guys to have set meal options instead of selling burgers individually for £8. This could make the dining experience more budget-friendly.
Lastly, there was an issue when a homeless individual came into the restaurant and used multiple empty bottles to fill up with ice and drinks from the machine free of charge. While it's important to help those in need, it's also crucial to consider hygiene and safety. Providing an empty cup for the person to fill up might be a better solution to prevent the potential spread of diseases.
In conclusion, I enjoyed my visit to Five Guys, but the high prices for certain items and the issue with the homeless individual using multiple bottles for drinks were concerning. I may visit again in the future, but it won't be a regular occurrence due to the cost of the products and the need for some improvements in their pricing...
