The Original George’s Fish Bar — Restaurant in London

A fish and chippy that has been here for many years. Great food and reasonable prices. The chips are great and the battered cod is done perfectly. The staff are friendly and there is a small seating / dining area. Sadly no hair nets are worn but no stars have been deducted since no other restaurant does. They follow social distancing guidelines here and masks must be worn inside. Disappointly, they do not take contactless or cards; cash only.

Unfortunately if you order from George's (the Original) online via apps like Just Eat, the markup on all of their prices is absurd. I understand delivery drivers need to be paid but the price increase on everything here is...

Absolutely beautiful fish and chips! - fresh flaky haddock, crisp crunchy batter, not at all greasy. Kept well in the delivery box and arrived at the perfect temperature, delivery from Ubereats. Would prefer the chips a little more golden but that's an extremely personal choice and I'm sure you have to go for the middle ground when servicing that many people. After looking this place up to write the review, I remember I used to go there years ago before parking became so chaotic and restrictive. Absolutely worth the seemingly higher price tag, the portion of fish was m-a-s-s-i-v-e and could easily serve two people. Sorry no photos, I woofed it all...

George's good fish and chip shop not really my local but I use it nothing wrong with the food value for money not sure on that one. The only thing I don't like is the fact that advertis fresh fish daily,.It is not possible to get fresh fish on weekends and Monday's, last catch is in the market Friday morning no market Saturday's Sunday's or Monday's, that is why fish and chip shops traditionally never open on Monday's so the fish you eat on Monday's must be frozen not fresh daily but don't let me stop you it's...
