More of a 3.5. I really, really, really wanted to love this place based on what I have seen on social media. The concept is fantastic, the decor is out of this world beautiful, the whole thing is very cohesive. Service was super-friendly and even stayed open a bit later! They just really appreciate their customers. You can feel it from the moment you walk in. This place wants you to have An Experience, not just a few drinks. Except it was let down solely by the cocktails. Everything else was excellent, but a craft cocktail bar that wants to be top of the game needs very good cocktails. The bartender himself was awesome, but the signature cocktails were mostly rather weak tasting without much depth to them. Despite the ingredients listed, the flavours (and spirits) don't come through and it falls a bit flat. Many tasted like... fancy juice. No true complexity. I had a few and left feeling sober. They were very eloquently presented, but the taste just didn't match. The Sazerac was expertly done, however. So, the bartender is skilled, just the signature recipes need some work. But, if they are trying to appeal to casual or non-cocktail drinkers, then I see why they taste the way they do. To be approachable for the common wine, cooler, or beer drinker. The prices are just too high if that's the case. Other London cocktail bars are doing much more complex, richer, unique cocktails for the same or less. Truly unfortunate was the fact that their top signature, the Golden Rabbit, was unavailable. I thought, okay, it's late in the night, maybe they sold out. But apparently, they haven't had it in 3 months. That's just unacceptable and perfectly encapsulates the biggest issue with the boardgame menu. It's a huge investment to make the menu a boardgame, but it means you cannot change the signature menu for a very long time. If that's the case, you need to be sure to have your namesake signature always available. The game itself is a neat concept, but a bit silly and cumbersome on small tables. I can see how it could be fun with a group. The menu book is lovely and HUGE kudos to having Corpse Reviver No.1 on it! It could do with a copyread however, as there are a lot of punctuation and grammatical errors which is unfortunate on such an artistic menu. I also find it purposely misleading to say the menu contains "over 100 original recipes" when they are, actually, mainly classics, or other existing cocktails taken from Diffords guide or some other cocktail book. And the cocktails are quite pricey for recipes easily found online. Sure, I think £14 for a good signature is reasonable, but £14 for a Jack Rose is really not. It's a bit shady to claim they're your own recipes, and charge signature prices, when they actually aren't. It was a pleasant experience but could have been so much better if the cocktails had lived up to the expectations and the prices better reflected the drinks. It's a new bar so there's loads of room for growth. I think they certainly have passion and potential and I look forward to coming back and hopefully upping my rating cos I do love the concept.

I was on a walk with a friend through Holborn when we passed the inconspicous entrance - luckily one of the bartenders was heading in to get ready for his shift, and explained to us that there was a Speakeasy type bar downstairs, so we decided to come back after we had finished working. We're very glad we did - the service, location and general vibe is excellent. The owning family are dedicated to creating a wonderful environment to enjoy excellent drinks, and the bartender was knowledgable and very helpful. The prices are similar to other bars in the area, but the quality of drinks (especially their signature cocktails) are much higher than other cocktail bars in the area. They even provided a board game they'd developed to help you explore the venue's signature cocktails. We were both supremely impressed, and can quickly see this becoming one of our favourite bars in London - we are also very excited to bring some friends to check it out!

Been looking for a place for a birthday gathering. Came across this brand new cocktail bar hidden away underground, which has just opened up. I must say it was amazing and I would highly recommend going! Definitely a place to add to your list when in London. The decoration of the interior, bar, the menu, the toilet all was so intricate, which stood out. I loved the colour and the theme, very unique. Not forgetting a game board, which was so fun to play. There was a lovely vibe bouncing off the walls with music playing from the 80s and 90s. The staff were ever so kind and took the time to answer any questions and helped select drinks that matched our preferences. They also created their signature cocktails without any alcohol, as a few people in our party do not drink. Overall the experience was mindblowing. Thank you to the staff and management team for this amazing wonderful experience. Definitely would be coming again.
