I was really impressed with this place. Walking through the door was a surprise as you go straight into the main area; there is no reception desk or anyone on the door. But the atmosphere is great, much like a pub with a good bar, TV screens showing sport and a fruit machine. The decor is modern and it feels clean, safe and well maintained. I went during the afternoon and it felt really relaxed. The bar staff were polite and the drinks prices extremely reasonable. The customers seemed decent, respectful and well behaved and even as a first timer and by myself, I didn't feel out of place.I would enjoy a drink there even if there were no adult entertainment but that was a very welcome addition! There is a dance on the stage every 10 minutes and every girl was a great dancer, stunning to look at and finished fully nude. Everybody in the main area pays 1 pound for each dance which the girl collects herself before her dance. The girls who are not performing sometimes walk around offering private dances to the customers although I was amazed how little pressure there was. Even when I said "not at the moment", some of the girls stayed and chatted with me for a while which was lovely. But I did indulge in several private dances (I like to do my research! :) ) and they were all awesome. These take place in a slightly darker 2nd room which has a number of poles surrounded by comfortable seats. The girl leads you, sometimes by the hand, to a seat and performs an amazingly erotic dance which lasts a few minutes during which she strips nude. The dances are similar to the stage dances but are designed to give you a very close up view of all her assets. The eye contact during the dance is truly wonderful and each time I felt I was in paradise. Afterwards, they sometimes offer another dance but are happy to accept no and you pay the reasonable fee of 15 pounds before 5pm and 20 pounds afterwards. After the dance, the girl switches back from a sex goddess to a lovely friendly girl you can chat to. Only one girl made me feel pressured to have more dances but that just made me more resolute to say no to her. There are strict no touching rules but I didn't see any sign of trouble and all the customers were appreciative, well behaved and just enjoyed the show. All in all, I had a lovely few hours and felt welcome. The only downside for me was that there appeared to be no food available. However, because there is no entrance fee, you can easily pop out for a bite (there are a few eating establishments near by) and then pop back. When I left, some of the girls said goodbye to me by name which was lovely and I left with very happy memories. I truly recommend this place to anybody who just wants a lovely relaxed time looking at and chatting to stunning girls who get naked. Clearly, anybody breaking the rules, wanting "extras" or asking for girls phone numbers etc. will be disappointed but I loved the place! If I was closer, I would probably pop in quite often for a quick drink and to see a couple of dances. There seem to be a few regulars that the girls recognise and I am sure I could easily become...

Hello everyone,

"The Griffin" is a strip club with a pretty special concept. The admission is free, there is no entrance fee to pay. However you have to donate one UK pound to each girl prior to her stage performance. Girls are performing each 10 minutes for about 5 minutes, which results in 6 UK pound per hour which really is a very fair price (especially compared to other clubs). The performances on the stage are great, the girls are mainly putting effort into it and they all go fully nude (and they really aren't very shy, you can enjoy a whole lot of their bodies ;-) ). Furthermore, the prices of the drinks aren't expensive, I consider them to be very fair. You can spend much more outside of this club in town.

The club consists out of two areas: A more private area for lap dances and the main area which contains the stage and a bar. The furnishing of the club is a little old and could/should be renewed in my opinion. Additionally, there are no tables or seats close to the stage, so you have to stand most of the time which is a disadvantage of this club. Therefore, you can stand close to the stage to watch the performances, it is your choice where you want to stand.

All in all the cost-benefit ratio is pretty good. It is worth a visit, especially because you don't have to pay admission.

I think private dances cost around 15 UK pound.

Couples are welcome.

@ some of the other reviewers: stay polite, don't drink too much and/or watch your stuff, and you won't run into problems. The club potentially isn't the main reason for your mentioned issues (respectively your bad luck...

well the building is nice yet the staff, girls and bouncers are a joke, the barmaid was miserable, aggressive not even capable of a saying hello with a piss poor attitude. trying to order a group of 7 drinks is a task on a night out, i get it but we are all spending money good money frequently maybe give me a couple of seconds before you huff and puff and stamp your feet like a little brat. the girls are pushy and quite rude i cant even watch the girl on stage who i just put my pound in for and im being hassled by another i know how the £1 system works but what a joke. and to top it off an innocent trip on the wet entrance way caused an almighty explosion of foul language UN-called for aggression and violence. the bouncer felt it acceptable to punch my colleague in the back over a slip and accused him of intentionally pushing him as someone with a security background your doormen are a disgrace to the industry. funny reading the reviews i am not the 1st to...
