I am honestly staggered by this place, no less why they are allowed to call it the REAL Greek. Anyone who has been to a genuine Greek restaurant, either in the UK or in Greece itself, will know that there is nothing REAL about his place.

The sad thing is that I have previously had some great experiences at their Covent Garden branch. Now, they have messed with the menu and it is just awful.

This was a family meal for a festive get together. We had booked for 12pm which is when the restaurant opens, which they did bang on 12pm. We were seated and 6 minutes later we were asked if we were ready to order We asked for a few more minutes to look at the menu, especially as a couple of our party had only just joined us. This seemed to cause some umbrage to the server as she did not come back again and another one was allocated to us.

When it came to order we enquired if bread was included with the dips. No, you have to buy that in addition. Try that in a proper Greek restaurant. over £6 for a taramasalata or hummus and the you have to add an other £4.25 for the essential bread. Over £10 for a very small plate of dip. Those who go to proper Greek restaurants will know that you usually get bread free when you sit down and is included with the dips and those dips are plentiful.

My son ordered the taramasalata. I do not know what they were trying to hide but the dish was so so salty and not the usual pink colour. Not pleasant. My daughter had a chicken wrap form the kids menu with chips. This arrived within a couple of minutes of ordering. Clearly not freshly made.

I ordered the beef and pork sausages with some Mediterranean rice. This was two very salty sausages, not at Greek tasting. The tiny bowl of rice was over £4.

I could not seat my food. After we were done with the food the server came and cleared the plates and asked it I was done, given that one and a half of my sausages were still on the plate. I told him they were not great and he took them away.

I did not want anything more from the kitchen and certainly no dessert. My daughter had a sober which was small ball of sorbet in a water glass. My son, who was not eating from the kids menu had to pay for a full price sorbet, so he got two scoops in a water glass.

By the way, for a restaurant this size there seemed to be just 5 toilet cubicles, 2 male, 2 female and one disabled. The male toilets were not clean, with the toilet seats quite disgusting and no soap in one… remember we got there just after they opened.

We asked for the bill. When it came I pointed out to our server that my meal was still on the bill. His response was that he would not take it off as I had eaten the food. When I disputed it he essentially called me a liar and insisted that I had consumed the entire meal.

Completely fed up we paid in full, including the service charge.

I want to be fair at this point. On my way to the door, I assume the manager thanked me which allowed me to to express my disappointment. He seemed genuinely concerned and have me £25 back from the bill.

In conclusion, I really hope that The Real Greek can sort out the direction it has taken and get back being REAL again. Given there are some amazing places not far away they need to do so. Go check out Andy’s or Alexanders both in Camden - that’s how you do Greek food.

Sorry folks, I cannot recommend The Real Greek, Tower Hill. I can’t speak for other branches although it seems the menus are now the same in all. I have to say you should avoid and go try one of the family run, genuine Greek...

So today (May 7th, 2023), my mother and I went to this place to try the food after spending a week or so in London. We always saw people inside eating, so why not right ?

Actually we were wrong !

The hostess seemed nice enough and set us down at a very much rickety cheap table and slapped the menus down when she finally came back. We didn’t know who are server was until a tall guy came to our table.

Then he eventually gave us glasses for presumably our drinks. Once, we looked at our glasses we noticed they were EXTREMELY DIRTY (for example my mothers drinking glass was so dirty a previous customer and/or employees lipstick stain was visibly on the glass) and you can see all the dirty stains on the glass and then I look at my glass and see the same thing.

My mother asked for a new glass and he came back with another dirty one. I honestly wanted to go in the back myself to show them how to clean a glass because I would think hygiene within a restaurant would be prevalent but I guess not.

Then I was inspecting my glass further and he comes back and he rudely asks me oh you want a new glass too ? Honestly, it’s common sense, is to be sanitary.

The bottles for the tap water spouts were even dirtier.

After placing our food order and getting our food we had not seen a server since being seated. We even saw another male customer having to go back inside the restaurant to tell the hostess he wanted to place another order for food cause no server ever came back outside.

We had to flag the attention of the hostess to give us our bill.

In summary :

The food was not worth 50 dollars.

The health department needs to shut this place down for the lack of cleanliness and seeing fruit flies.

This place is ridiculous- if your a tourist or a local - dodge this place ASAP.

if your a local and tourist, who keeps trying to save this place with giving it subpar reviews - you...

Came to celebrate our daughter's birthday for an early dinner at the Tower Bridge branch. Seated outside as a prior request which was much appreciated. However overall two things let it down; 1) The food. In general bland. The beef & pork sausage too chewy. The flatbread was not fresh. Mediocre drinks selection. Even basics like apple juice on the menu they ran out !!!!! Nothing else except basic soda & orange juice which you get in every corner shop. Burnt aubergines which we sent back, though the lady did offer to provide another. But we were already getting to the end by then. The kids chips & chicken & flatbread were really bland almost canteen quality. Kids didn't eat much. 2) We didn't like the general mannerisms of the male waiters. No smiling or warm welcoming on arrival. Stone faced & cold. One male waiter we particularly didn't like and was the primary reason alongside the food for this review. When he brought the dishes to us and we couldn't tell if they were the right dish the guy immediately displayed an almost offended cold attitude. Annoyance on his face. I mean are we supposed to know exactly what each dish looked like from a menu ?? He was condesending. Later on when we asked about another dish again the same annoyance on his face and short snappy response. People like this really let an establishment down. When the bill came I was really in two minds about removing the discretionary service charge. But the one male waiter who took our food order was in fact warm & friendly, and the two female hostesses. Otherwise I would not pay that charge. Overall though Tower Bridge Real Greek branch won't be returning and certainly will not recommend to family & friends. The food and that single male waiter (short black hair) let it down. So much better out...

We went there on a Saturday for lunch so it was really busy. I booked a table, but I turned earlier and they were very flexible giving me a table an hour before my book so I really appreciated that. We had two souvlaki wraps with a side of chips to share, a couple of soft drinks, a coffee and a baklava for less than £40 including service charge. The food came really quick, we waited less than five minutes so it's great if you want a real quick lunch. I guess for the wrap they have everything ready, they just need to put the ingredients together. The wraps and chips were really good. (An extra point for having big crystal bottles of soft drinks). Now, the baklava it wasn't great, I have to say. There were no layers, just a big chunk piece of nut filling with the layered dough on top of it, which made it very hard to eat it without getting very messy. Also, it was served really cold. The atmosphere was ok...? We thought there were too many tables considering how small the place is, and you have to move every time a waiter was delivering food to the table next to or behind you. The service was ok too. We had all on time and there was a lady on the floor removing empty plates/glasses from our table when needed which was great as the tables were not exactly very big either. The reason why I gave three stars only is because they looked extremely busy, almost running on the tiny floor to serve tables which made the experience a bit less great (considering you pay service charge). I would definitely go back to the real greek, but I will maybe consider a less crowded location (or I would visit it on a different day of the week).

Date Visited – 28th September 2024. Rating: Recommended. Planning a trip to Tower Bridge? While you're there enjoying the sights and capturing moments, don't miss out on dining at The Real Greek—it’s the perfect spot to satisfy your hunger. Location: The nearest tube station is Zone 1 - Tower Hill (served by District, Hammersmith & City and Circle line). Come out of the station, walk towards Tower Bridge, cross the bridge, and take step. You will find the restaurant just opposite. Customer Service: All the staff we interacted with showcased outstanding customer service. They were friendly, made thoughtful dish suggestions, and patiently stood by while we placed our orders. Their attentiveness was evident as they returned during our dinner to ensure we had everything we needed. Food Quality: We tried Falafel, Halloumi & vegetable skewer, Greek Salad, Mediterranean rice, The real Greek halloumi fries. All of those items were of excellent quality and served with smile. Price: Our total came to £108, which included an optional service tax, for a delightful meal for six. This price is quite reasonable when you factor in the generous portions and the exceptional quality of the food. I strongly encourage anyone seeking a fantastic dining experience with superb customer service to give this place a try. Toilet: The men's and women's restrooms are situated at the end of restaurant, where they are consistently well-kept and orderly. Table Booking – It was a particularly busy Saturday night, so to guarantee your spot and avoid any potential disappointment, I recommend securing a table ahead of time.

Went there once to grab a bite to eat after visiting the bridge and we wanted to eat gluten free. We were very skeptical whether this is possible, because there are marked gluten-free dishes, but what about contamination? So we asked if it's possible to eat something safe. The service pointed this out to the chef and then the boss was included to find a solution. We discussed it together and it was very professional. The gluten-free meat dishes are grilled on a grate together with the others. The chef pointed out a possible contamination in a professional manner, which showed that he works with confidence. The solution was then a really very fresh salad, raw vegetables for dipping and shredded chicken breast, which was fried in a separate and cleaned pan. It tasted very good and the waitress even washed her hands before serving. All the food was very fresh and tasty and I tolerated it very well, reasonably priced and all the staff friendly. The location on the bridge is fun and the restaurant has a Mediterranean style. I can therefore recommend it very much and would love to come back on my next vacation!
