A bit of a weird and irritating experience. We were the only ones in there on a Saturday morning. The elderly gentleman who took our order had to come back 3 times to confirm it because he didn't write any of it down for some reason. Despite it being a tiny cafe in took them 10 minutes to tell us they didn't have the croissant my fiancee wanted, then they came back 5 minutes later to say they didn't have the one I had ordered either. They brought alternatives and said the toastie I ordered was coming. We waited 10 minutes and the elderly gentleman said it was very almost ready. Another 10 minutes later it still hadn't arrived so we told them we were going to leave without it. They then very hurriedly eventually brought us a take away bag with it in long after my fiancee had finished her breakfast.
Throughout the meal they were doing something with the sound and the music would suddenly jump up and down from extremely loud to very quiet. It was quite off-putting. It was also very cold in there.
I got home and ate the toastie and it wasn't anything special.
The staff outnumbered the customers 2:1 and I could have made a better breakfast by myself much faster so I don't think we should have bothered going there, and likely...
Read moreI’m a long-time local, used to be a regular here with my mates, and I’ve never felt more taken for a ride. Happy hour? What a joke. It used to be £9.50 for 2 drinks — now it’s £14 for 2, and the cocktails are microscopic, barely enough to wet your lips. Not happy hour, just daylight robbery.
And the service? . I politely raised the price with a bartender and caught her mocking me to a colleague half an hour later. Stellar professionalism, really. Between the astronomical prices, stingy pours, and smug attitude, this place has lost every shred of charm. I’ll be taking my business elsewhere — and so should anyone with taste or common sense. I’m literally writing this as I saw her. I...
Read moreI went there looking for a cardboard box with a very specific size. Unfortunately they didn't have it, the ones available being just a little too small or way too big. However the guy in the shop was extremely helpful and kind: he gave me some leftovers to build my own box. Not only that, but he also cut them for me and gave me a piece of string to carry them away. To be honest after a week dealing with cowboy builders and all sort of other issues it was incredibly refreshing to see somebody actually trying to help. He did restore my faith in humanity! I will definitely go back next time I need boxes, which is actually pretty soon. There is also a really nice coffee shop at...
