Updated review: we had an unpleasant incident dining here yesterday (26/01/2020) whereby we had to argue with the duty manager about the T and Cs of a promotional discount app we were trying to use when settling the bill. He initially refused to honour a discount based on 4 people dining there saying it was only applicable for 2 persons when clearly the app stated the discount was applicable for 'up to 6 people'. It was outrageous that he made such a scene in front of other patrons when we asked him to explain why what he said contradicted the actual T and Cs on the app to which replied that he has spoken to the app providers to say it is only applicable for 2 person dining there so it's not his fault that the app was not displaying what he had asked them to show. After several rounds of arguing our point that what was written in black and white on the app should be honoured rather than what was 'spoken' to the app providers he finally relented. This has certainly left a bad taste especially when we were there with guests. We have eaten here twice in one week - the Sunday menu and the a la carte menu. Both times the quality of the food was superb. On the Sunday menu, we had the Sunday roast (a roast beef for my husband and a roast pork for me) and both were absolutely delicious - you can definitely taste the quality of the ingredients. The chips garden salad are very good as well. I highly recommend the sourdough with shallot butter and the chips. On the a la carte menu, the lamb rump dish could do with a bit more lamb (there was only 2 small squares 2.5 inches of lamb served with the dish), but the quality was great. Flavour combinations were fantastic! The service is very good on the whole except for the small hiccup on Sunday but they were gracious in rectifying the error. Dessert was lovely as well (cheesecake and the chocolate one). Price is slightly on the high side but not out of place for the area and is worth it for the quality of food. Highly recommended and we look forward...
Read moreExcellent food, freshly made.
This is the main feature of this restaurant.
We visited today the Six restaurant within the King's Arms Hotel with my family and we all have been extremely impressed with the food.
We have tried several different dishes and we could not find anything at all that was anything but perfect.
Starting from the bread, freshly made served with an excellent butter, ending with the ice-cream, rich and silky, everything was well above our expectations.
We shared a local charcuterie board which was lovely , especially the coppa.
I had corzetti for started and my wife the scotch egg. Both dishes were perfectly executed and cooked on point. The scotch egg with the running yolk and perfectly fried was excellent. The corzetti were rich and tasty, nicely al dente and the broad beans were nice and sweet cutting the richness of the dish.
We also tried the agnolotti, which were just perfect. The rich flavor of the goat cheese was well balanced by the fresh cherry tomatoes and the light broth. These are definitely a MUST !
I had the Saffron risotto and my wife went for the fish and chips.
The risotto was ( very uncommon to find) perfectly cooked with the "mantecatura" executed to perfection. It was well balanced on the flavor and the saffron aromatic note was not hidden by any other flavor. Just the cheese and butter to complete but not overtaking the main aroma.
Our son had a burger, nice and juicy and served with a freshly made brioche bun. Even if it was from the kids menu it showed that attention and care were put also for the children food, exactly as it was for the adults.
The ice-cream to finish was delicious. Rich and silky.
The service was warm, friendly and precise.
We had a bottle Gavi and it was extremely nice.
Definitely a place that we will visit again in the future and that would recommend to...
Read moreAfter spending a lovely day in Hampton Court, my boyfriend and I found this restaurant and thought it seemed the perfect place to grab a drink and some food. Upon arrival, we were not seated for around 10 minutes, despite an ample waiting staff. After waiting, the supervisor (Georgia) rudely asked if we wanted a table, rushed us to our seats and left us with only drinks menus. Later she sat a table of four next to us, spent time talking to them, recommending drinks, offered food menus; none of this behaviour had been expressed to us. After more rude interactions with Georgia, where she would answer questions abruptly whilst walking past our table not even stopping to answer, we decided this was not a place we felt comfortable or happy dining. Upon paying the bill, we asked if we had done anything to offend her or if she had a problem with us specifically, and enquired as to why her service to other guests had been much more congenial than to us, to which she replied she had been extremely busy (an insufficient explanation as to the treatment we received). Overall, a restaurant which appears to have charm and would love to have tried the food, yet it seemed that our custom was not wanted. Our experience with this member of staff and her unpleasant demeanour left us feeling wholly uncomfortable, upset, and...
