We've loved coming to this bakery, but the experience today was disappointing. We ordered a couple of their bakery goods and ordered two lattes. They have this system where you order your coffee, and you sit down and they bring it to you. All good so far. Except people kept coming and getting their coffee and we'd been sitting for 20 minutes waiting. Three of the employees came out to have their breakfast and made themselves coffee and ours was still not coming, so I asked if our lattes were on the way. They were, we were told. Some minutes later the same guy approached and asked us what was the order again; they had forgotten to make it or what it was. Another family came in and ordered some hot drinks. Theirs was made immediately and we're still waiting for ours. Eventually, it came, but it was the wrong order. There has been no apology, no conversation, no, "sorry for making you wait, shall I change your order since we made the wrong drink for you"? Nothing. It's a busy place, with our order of 2 pastries and 2 coffees coming at just under £20. I think I would rather spend the money elsewhere. I fully understand you won't miss our business, but hopefully you'll improve...

Went on the recommendation of friends as we were doing a “bakery tour.” Sadly, we couldn’t really sample their bread as it was sold out, but we did get a couple of sandwiches, so we know what their rolls are like. The lamb sandwich was fine not earth shaking. It is served warm, but by the time mine got to me, the cheese was no longer melty… maybe stand by to collect yours, if possible… Interesting lightly pickled veg inside and spilled out onto the plate. The sausage sandwich was served cold, and ready to go from the counter was pretty good!

The environment is very serviceable. We did take some buns with us for later, these people know what to do with flour and water and sugar!

The “pot” of tea didn’t feel like a value, but the tea was better than average. The latte was nice smooth coffee with just the right amount of milk and a nice...

There are a myriad of Bread/Bakery shops in Hackney, but none come close to the sheer quality of The Bread Station.

Upon entering, you are met with a well spaced outdoor area where you have the option to sit and have breakfast or lunch. Within the interiors are thoughtfully laid out juxtapositions of a bread station, pastries and other interesting foods.

They have a wonderful reward system that values customer loyalty and the staff are simply some of the most wonderfully friendly and easy going bunch you could ever come across, if not the most.

High quality and a variety types of bread combined with lovely staff is very much a win for me and takes care of 50% of my dietary needs. The Fruit rye is one to beat!

I cannot recommend this place...

**EDIT*** The management reached out to me, which I think says a lot about how much they value their customers opinion! I went back to try the salmon breakfast sandwich and this time around enjoyed it quite a bit more! The bread was soft and it tasted fresher. Also got a cardamom roll which was reallllly nice. Coffee was a big improvement as well:) I’m glad they reached out and I’ll definitely be back! Thank you Esther and staff! Original: The girl at the front was pretty rude. The sandwich I got (mushroom and egg) tasted old, stale, and cold. Honestly did not feel worth the money. Coffee was not very hot and milk wasn’t steamed well…..No wifi

The Bread Station is a Michelin-driven Danish bakery you should stop by if you’re in the area. The pastries are taken with a fancy twist, the bread loafs are impressive in proportion. My oat latte was good but not extraordinary. A few things to say about the avocado toasts: the egg yolk was the reddest I have ever had which I believe is a good sign and the avocado was tasty. However, the sourdough bread was too toasted to cut with a knife without having them slip out the plate. I would have loved a bit more dressing on top: a drizzle of olive oil and pepper. Will come back to try the poppy seed roll.
