I had the pleasure of visiting The Spice Box for lunch today, and I can confidently say it was an exceptional experience from start to finish.
From the moment we walked in, we were warmly welcomed and promptly seated. One detail that stood out right away was the thoughtfully marked menu — items that were unavailable were clearly crossed out, which was a simple but much-appreciated touch to avoid any disappointment.
We went during their lunchtime deal (available from 12–3 PM), which includes a curry, your choice of rice or naan, and a drink — excellent value for money. I ordered the chicken curry while my colleagues opted for chicken and lamb. The curries were bursting with flavour, rich in spice, and impressively fresh. The meat, especially the lamb, was melt-in-the-mouth tender with no trace of fat. I thoroughly enjoyed my chicken, but after tasting the lamb, I know what I’ll be ordering next time!
To accompany the meal, I had the pilau rice, which was perfectly cooked and full of subtle aromatic notes, and a peshwari naan that was sweet, soft, and served piping hot — a perfect contrast to the savoury curries.
The only minor downside was that our main dishes arrived a few minutes before the naan bread, but considering it was a quiet afternoon and possibly just one chef in the kitchen, it was completely understandable.
The atmosphere in The Spice Box is cozy and pleasant, with calming music and an inviting scent that set the tone for a relaxing meal. The space is small but well-kept, and the staff were friendly, attentive, and genuinely welcoming.
Overall, the food was a solid 10/10 — fresh, flavorful, and clearly made with care. I highly recommend giving this place a try. You...
Read moreI had to edit my previous 5 star comment which was true when the restaurant first opened. I initially had hyped Spice box to my family & friends so much.
Yesterday my friends I decided to go dine in there to celebrate our birthdays.
There were catalogue of errors!!!
The food was tasteless and below standards. Not like the food we had when it first opened.
There was no air conditioning which you would expect in a newly opened restaurant. It was over 30 degrees and even hotter inside the restaurant which made our experience not great.
My friend ordered boneless Jeera chicken as thats what it stated on the menu however she got it with bones. We addressed this with the waitress who shrugged it off and said the menu is incorrect!!!!
The waitress overall did not seem too bothered.
The crispy bhajiya were as hard as a rock with no taste. We asked for the Tomato chutney which goes with the crispy bhajiya but the waitress said they don't have any- again she wasn't too bothered.
We ordered the Dai puri- there was no taste at all!!!! The dai was sour as if its gone off, the puri was soggy, there was no imli or green chutney inside to give it the chaat taste. We again addressed this with the waitress but she wasn't overly bothered.
The Masala mogo was so bland we asked for lemon to spice it up. No salt in all the food!
By this time we were reluctant to order mains but we were so hungry so we ordered mixed veg curry and garlic naan....BIG MISTAKE!!!! no taste at all!!!!!
Overall we left disappointed. I actually felt embarrassed as I was the one who was raving about this place to everyone.
Perhaps the chef has changed but I certainly won't be visiting here again or...

Spice Box best Dishes: Garlic Naan: Delightfully fluffy with a perfect garlic kick. Chilli Roti: A spicy twist that hits the right notes. Chole Masala and Panner Labrador : Rich and flavorful, a standout dish. Veg Manchurian: Deliciously satisfying, a must-try. Bendi Fry : it was a perfectly cooked dish.
