Used to be a 5 star but after my recent experience I will never order from the spice of life again.

TL;DR if they make an error you pay for it!

Our delivery order arrived and one of the main dishes had spilt out of its container and all over the bag, I called and they offered to send a replacement and said it would be with me in 10 minutes. No problem at all, mistakes happen. However, after 30 minutes of waiting, the rest of the food pretty much cold I called and was reassured the driver left 7 minutes ago (it's an 8 minute drive) and would be arriving any second. Another 15 minutes passes and still no food, I called again and was informed they sent it to the wrong address and would send another. The rest of the meal was now completely cold so I requested they send the entire meal again and take what we had away. The gentleman on the phone was quite put out by this idea and instead offered to refund the one dish, which of course is no use to me whatsoever. After a lot of arguing I was told I had to contact their payment provider to get my full refund as they could not do it. Needless to say the payment provider had to call Spice of Life and after speaking with them, they refunded the single dish.

To the team: I order from you 2-3 times a month so enjoy the £20 you stole from me, you'll never see...

I ordered for 2 tandoori chicken biryani, 2 special fried rice (eggs, peas and rice) and phall curry which was the extremely hot one (the way I like it). I’m being very honest, this is no cap, the food was extremely delicious. And I love the fact that the restaurant made efforts to call me up and ask about my specific notes for them and they sent my food like the way I wanted. I was full with just 1 tandoori biryani and had to put the fried rice in the fridge for the next day. The fried rice tasted so good on the day after. So flavoursome and delicious is the word. Deffo will be ordering from here again. Anybody need proper spicy Indian food, this Is the place. Love it so much. Please maintain the same quality, recipes and flavours. Please note my name, I’ll be ordering again and I would be looking for the same sort of quality. Love you guys and keep up the good work.

sorry I had no time to take pictures, I was so hungry. I just dived into the food....

Beautiful food everything perfect from start to finish. A busy little restaurant but can easily see why. Service excellent and helpful and very efficient. Prices are reasonable but once ou tasted the food it's worth every penny. My first visit to this restaurant and it defiantly impressed. When we was here there was were couples, families and friends and even people coming in and out for take away too, so ideal for anyone that enjoys a curry. Not a very big restaurant but that doesn't matter one bit. There are a lot of Indian cuisines in south London but this is most defiantly up there and worth a try. One exception I'm a pig, so maybe to some people the portions could be a little larger. But overall a very lovely experience and not a bad word to say about this place. Would defiantly be coming...

Great! I was out in lewisham and wanted to treat myself to a birthday meal and fancied some Indian. I done a quick Google search and found this place. The reviews were good so gave it a try and I'm so glad I did. Firstly the 2 men that I met there were so friendly and helpful. I couldn't decide which Curry to get and they made a recommendation of the chilli massala. I had lamb and it was so soft. They even threw in some popodoms :) the green sauce that came with it was really nice too. Peshwari naans are my fav!. Everything was so nice! The portions were good sized, I ate half of my feast and fell asleep shortly after 😆 it was a great birthday meal. I'm glad I ordered from them. Thank you!!

Ordered a saag paneer which came bland and tasteless, had to add my own seasonings. The paneer was all mushed into the saag which isn’t normal as when you order a saag paneer you expect chunks of paneer and not receive it mushed into the saag. Really disappointed for what I received and how much it cost. Id avoid this place it seems like all these reviews are false. As someone who’s actually south Asian I’m disappointed over the food I received last night, since when was Indian food so bland?
