We visited the restaurant for my partner's graduation brunch before the ceremony. We booked a table for 14. We ordered our drinks and the waiter accidentally dropped the whole tray of hot teas on my dad's back. As you can imagine it was really hot leading to a 1st degree burn. We were extremely disappointed not because of the accident, accidents can happen, but of how the restaurant dealt with the situation. The waiter said sorry and brought some ice. No first aid kit was provided nor any burn cream which the restaurant should have on the premises. The manager did not even appear to the table to apologise for what happened. We were running to find the nearest pharmacy to find something to soothe my dad's burn and pain just before my partner's ceremony. Therefore it was not only a disappointing and traumatic experience but also stressful due to unacceptable behaviour and inability to manage the situation at hand. When my partner went to pay the bill they took 50% off. Nonetheless, it is unacceptable for a restaurant that has such good reviews and is highly recommended in the heart of battersea to be dealing with such situations in this way. Before food quality and a nice environment, health and safety procedures should be prioritised and the staff should be adequately trained to deal with these situations which can...

We had a range of items from the starter and small plates, as the main burgers options didn’t tickle our fancy – nor did they seem to be of interest to all the tables around us.
Nothing had flavour!
I’ve never had padron peppers that hadn’t been salted, and the ‘paprika crumb’ wasn’t paprika (as you can see from the colour). The falafel was too salty and didn’t match the garlic yogurt it came with – in which the garlic flavour was lacking. The chili cheese on toast, you could easily make at home in 2 minutes, so save yourself the 6.50. The steamed vegetable dumplings just seemed to be stuffed with cabbage and onions. I ate one and couldn’t force myself to eat another.
We had a few other dishes, but there’s no point repeating myself in how much they lacked flavour.
They also incorrectly brought us a dish when we simply asked for a little more sauce. We sent the dish back as we didn’t want it, yet we were then charged for that dish when our bill came.
The staff were friendly enough but actual service was mediocre. For example, it took 15minutes for them to bring over some tap water.
The atmosphere, nicely decorated but has a bad layout, with some tables being squashed together, making it hard to...

The main issue was the quality of food. My wife ordered the Eggs Royale which says it’s served on muffins but it was actually served on a circle of baguette-like bread far too hard to cut through. We had to have it redone. The salmon lacked the oily rich taste and texture and appeared to be of a cheaper store quality. I ordered the Full English which sadly was riddled with disappointments. The Cumberland sausage and the black pudding were clearly store bought and were identical to diners that sell all day breakfast for £5 cheaper. They lacked texture and flavour. The beans didn’t really have the smoky flavour of chorizo or the sweet meaty flavour of ham hock that was promised. The best part of the dish was that mushroom which had a real herby kick and the very crispy bacon (asked for specifically).
Both dishes (and the redone dish) came out within minutes and were at room temperature. Which is a shame considering the restaurant was almost entirely empty and there was no need to rush on the food.
All in all this place lacks the locally sourced and carefully curated procurement of full flavour ingredients that usually separates these kinds of establishment from the cheaper local diners...
