Will not be coming back here again.
When my family and I walked in, we had a good first impression. We got our drinks from the bar and were shown to our table. We scanned the QR code to order our food. There were two options for when we wanted our starters to arrive: either as soon as possible or with the main meal. We selected âas soon as possibleâ and then placed the order for our mains.
While waiting for our starters, we began to wonder why they were taking so longâespecially since people who arrived after us were getting served first. We asked a waiter when our starters would come, and all he said was, âErr⌠soon. Very soon.â Eventually, we received our main courses first. It was honestly ridiculousâwe had to ask again about our starters, only to be given the mains before them.
We ended up sending the starters back. We didnât want to eat them alongside our mains, especially since we had ordered sides tooâit wouldâve just made the whole meal unenjoyable.
As for the food⌠weâve had far better. We ordered steaks, but they were tough and brittle, with very little actual meat on them. What meat there was had to be spat into a tissue because it was so chewy. We had to settle for mash instead of roast potatoes for our Sunday roast because theyâd run out. The mash was hard and clearly microwaved. My sister had the chicken, which she said tasted like charcoal and was completely dry.
We did get a refund for our starters in cash, but even then, it felt like weâd been robbed considering the amount we paid for the rest of the mealâwhich was mostly microwaved. To top it all off, a couple sitting next to us said they had experienced the same thing.
We even joked about whether dessert wouldâve been brought out with everything else too, had we ordered it. We went home hungry and disappointed. It completely ruined what was meant to be a nice family dinner.
We wonât...
Read moreWe had the most fantastic experience dining at The Travellers with my two lovely children! From the moment we stepped inside, we were greeted with warm smiles and a cozy atmosphere that made us feel right at home.
The menu at The Travellers offered a delightful selection of dishes that catered to all our tastes. My children were over the moon with their childrenâs menu, while I thoroughly enjoyed my perfectly cooked Hunters chicken with a side of chips. Each dish was prepared with care and attention to detail, showcasing the chef's expertise and passion for creating delicious meals.
Not only was the food exceptional, but the service was outstanding as well. The staff at The Travellers went above and beyond to make sure we had everything we needed and that our dining experience was nothing short of perfect. They were attentive, friendly, and made us feel like valued guests throughout our meal.
The ambiance at The Travellers was also worth mentioning. The decor and charming lighting created a welcoming and cozy setting that added to the overall dining experience.
To top it all off, the dessert menu at The Travellers was simply irresistible. We couldn't resist trying the brownie with a scoop of vanilla ice cream and it was the perfect way to end our meal on a sweet note. The flavourâs were rich and indulgent, and we savoured every bite.
Every single staff member plays a valuable part there. They make my children feel welcomed and happy. Happy children make a happy mummy!!
Overall, our experience at The Travellers was nothing short of amazing. From the delicious food to the impeccable service and cozy ambiance, every aspect of our visit exceeded our expectations. I highly recommend this pub restaurant to anyone looking for a memorable dining experience with their loved ones. We can't wait to visit The...
Read moreWill never come back here!!!! Although a nice looking pub with good interior and selection of beers and drinks. But as a food restaurant is absolutely terrible!!! What was meant to be a nice family meal out ended in disaster!! We ordered our starters, which never materialised even though we selected on the app 'as soon as possible', and it ended up coming out at the same time as the mains???
We also came here for a roast just to be told they had run out of roast potatoes, first time experiencing that đ¤Ł
We refused the starters in the end and sent it back as we had ordeered sides also with the mains.
The waitress was rude and when refunding us the cash for the starters, she pretty much slammed the money down on the table and did not appear at all interested in our complaint as if we were the inconvenience?
Me and my wife had a steak, bad choice that was!! Fatty and grisly, my wife had to spit the meat out into a tissue!!
I wrote an email feedback on this very poor experience just to receive the usual textbook response "we are very sorry for your experience" blar blar blar!!! Funny how they are never willing to offer a refund of not even some token gesture with a discount refund, even if it was just 20%. Including drinks, we spent at least ÂŁ150 in this for poorly run pub restaurant.
And whilst we were there, there were another couple suffering the same experience who we ended up having a joke with đ
Take my word for it people stay away, you will regret spending money here!!
I look forward to yet again another textbook response with no offer of a partial refund!!
I will, as well as others I'm getting involved, will...
