A quaint, Victorian dining room style, London corner pub. Bigger than most, without losing personality. Retained vintage decorative features, notably the patterned wall headers. Very clean and one of the most organised bars I can recall, there's pride in this pub. Good mixed of vintage furniture, especially the large wood framed bench sofas. A good selection of beer on tap and well stocked bar. Great rock and 60's sounds. A pub for catching up on the chat in groups.

Traditional one-room corner pub on Whitecross Street. Benefits greatly from the Food Market as it allows (positivity encourages) customers to bring their own food to consume on the premises (providing they buy drinks, of course). So very busy on weekday lunchtimes - particularly if the weather is good as the street is essentially pedestrianised - so conducive for outside drinking. Good range of well kept ales and craft beers. Friendly staff. Good pub!

A favourite pub in this area of town. Anywhere in fact. We used to buy lunch from one of the outstanding food stalls on Whitecross Street and bring it in here, as it had a 'bring your own' policy for lunch, which is a great idea and I hope is still in operation. We'd have a cheeky pint or three while we were there as well of course. Kate Moss popped in once.

I’ve been visiting this pub for years, ever since I worked in the area. It’s always stood out for resisting the direction of travel of other pubs in London, maintaining a degree of individuality and authenticity with brilliant staff. Sadly, newer staff members are letting this down. They were rude, pushy and essentially barking at customers to leave no sooner had the last orders bell been rung (having only just been served). I’d expect this behaviour in a generic chain pub on the high street but not here. Advice to the owners - train your staff properly in customer service and grip this issue now before people start to vote with their feet. For now, I won’t be returning for...

My first visit, and I thought it was wonderful. Two very professional, efficient and friendly female bar tenders, who had a smile, a greeting and a kind farewell to everyone who came and left while I was in there (you know, just like the 'old days'). Good beer, good prices. And their policy of allowing people to bring in their own food from the outside street food market is a great idea (the bar tenders also made sure to let everyone know that they would dispose of all the leftover wrappers, cartons, etc too). Great...

A nice London boozer, with efficient and friendly staff, a little bit off the main drag but still very buzzy and a nice drop of Real Ale at a good price for London. Just went up for My second pint change of staff, order a Dombar came up cloudy ( new barrel not settled)asked to have it changed ( tall thin bald guy behind bar very miserable) very reluctantly with out listening poured another pint of Dombar which was the same very reluctantly got Me a Timothy Tylors which was nice. Down graded the...
