Late one cold winterās Saturday night in Bethnal Green we found ourselves without a plan and a hankering for something fun to do. We remembered a pub weād visited once before - one that offered a free drink from the Dusk app and that had a great shuffleboard, so we quickly made our way over to the Three Colts Tavern
As we entered, we were greeted by a friendly buzz. The pub was already busy, with most tables filled by friends catching up or gearing up for the night ahead. The atmosphere was one of warmth, with soft lighting and good music filling the background. Plants of all shapes and sizes surrounded the wooden tables, giving it a lovely homely feel.
As we were doing dry jan, we didnāt indulge in any of the beer offerings, but the selections seems broad and interesting. A special mention also goes out for having Jubel on tap, a true mark of a great pub in my eyes.
What really impressed me, however, was the pizza. I went for the pepperoni pizza, opting to go for the added stracciatella, as well as a side of olives and some crust dippers. After a short while the chef came over and very apologetically explained to me that due to a supply issue they didnāt have the stracciatella. He suggested swapping it for comtĆ© instead - which immediately piqued my interest.
The resulting pizza was an absolute delight. The comtĆ© provide a wonderful nutty richness, that complimented the spicy pepperoni beautifully. It was an absolute winner. To top it off, I was gifted some extra dips on the house as a gesture of goodwill. I thought the chef was incredibly kind and handled the situation really well, I didnāt catch his name so I can only say a big thank you to the tall chef with the lovely bushy beard, Iām sure you know who you are!
The only downfall of the night was the olives. They were quite possibly some of the most disappointing Iāve tried. They lacked in any real flavour, even having quite an unappealing taste to them, and had no marinade at all. Perhaps it was just an off batch, but even a little effort of some oil, herbs or lemon, would elevate them to the same standards as the pizza. A very minor issue, but one that did stick with me.
All in all, the Three Colts Tavern is a top-notch pub. Whether youāre lucky enough to nab the shuffleboard for some competitive fun, or just coming to unwind with some friends over good drinks and pizza, this is the place for you⦠and who knows, you might just discover your new favourite pizza topping in...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreDisappointing Experience at 'Three Colts Tavern' due to Buggy Restrictions
My recent visit to the 'Three Colts Tavern' left me with mixed feelings as I was denied entry due to their strict policy against allowing buggies inside. Despite the tavern being practically empty and having an abundance of space, I was disappointed by their inflexible stance on the matter.
Upon arriving at the tavern with my wife, we were excited to unwind and enjoy a relaxing afternoon together. However, our excitement turned to dismay when the staff informed us that our buggy would not be allowed inside. Despite our assurance that we would take utmost care and position it in a non-obtrusive spot, they remained steadfast in their refusal.
While I understand the need for certain rules and guidelines, it seemed unreasonable to enforce such a policy in a virtually empty establishment, where the presence of a buggy would have had no impact on other patrons. This restriction not only left us feeling unwelcome but also inconvenienced us, as we had to figure out an alternative arrangement to eat.
The disappointment was heightened by the fact that we had heard many positive reviews about the ambiance and hospitality of 'Three Colts Tavern.' Sadly, we couldn't experience it firsthand due to this incident.
In today's inclusive and customer-centric hospitality industry, it is essential for establishments to consider each customer's unique needs and circumstances. Being flexible and accommodating can create a positive and memorable experience for all patrons.
I sincerely hope that 'Three Colts Tavern' reevaluates their policy and adopts a more understanding approach towards patrons with special requirements. While the ambiance and food might be commendable, it is crucial to ensure that all visitors feel welcome and appreciated regardless of their circumstances.
In conclusion, my visit to 'Three Colts Tavern' was marred by the unnecessary restriction on buggies despite the place being empty and spacious. I urge the management to reconsider their policies to foster a more inclusive environment that caters to all customers and their...

The service was great, I was served by a pleasant lady who waited patiently as this uncultured beer drinker checked out the tap list.
