Salaam Balaam, 2 years ago! His Review “Nothing special Greasy food Wouldn’t go a again.” Told he’s still a Customer regularly gets Breakfast there, has been known to ask for a Discount, hates the Fact that they Cook Pork in the Café as he is a Muslim! Hence Nasty Review!
Sean Pender, A year ago,, His Review “Food is what you expect from a cafe but the prices are out of this world not worth it at all” Told he still has breakfast there regularly, and He was Complaining about the Price, hence the Review
My Review, if is Found to Be Overbearing, Intense or too Complimentary, Please Bear in mind I have Only Been Leaving Reviews Properly Since the Beginning of June 2023, yes this year, it’s the First time Ever for me, I have only this June become Confident Enough to Leave any Reviews!
I Personally Believe there are Just as Good a Reason to Leave Truthful Good Café Reviews as There are Reasons to Leave Truthful Reviews About Bad Cafés too, so Arches Café is Getting my Vote in the form of a 10/10 Review (that means 5 Stars if Anyone Doesn’t Understand Me)!
The reasons for it getting 5 Stars is Due to the Following:
I initially Asked for the Arches Cafe’s Details as this was the 5th Time I have Visited the Arches Café (in Three Colts Lane, Bethnal Green) with Friends, I felt Comfortable and at Ease there, as I did from my first Visit! The Staff there are Friendly and good at Remembering how You Like Your Coffee as I have Especially made a Point of Asking for A Stronger Black Americano due to My Personal Taste only because I haven’t ever found Cafe Coffee Strong Enough for Me (All of the Cafe’s I have Visited don’t Make it Strong Enough for Me, as I Like it Near Espresso Strength, Always).
Since my Commenting about my Preference Previously, I have Now always made a Point of Mentioning and they Have Continually Been Most Excellent in Bringing it Exactly the Way I Like, a Gorgeously Strong Black Americano, Today They even Warned me to be Careful as it was Extremely Hot, and Warned my Friend Similarly when they Brought Out His Food, I Know, isn’t it Disgusting that they Actually Serve Hot Food! My Friends Regularly Eat There Too!
I Have Understood from My Friends too, that they Have Refurbished the Café Quite Some Time Ago and I find it Quite Pleasant in its Present Fixtures!
I feel I could have been Just as Content with it in its Previous State of Repair, I am sure of this, as Back in The Day I was a Regular at Nico’s Cafe at the Junction of Cambridge Heath Road and the Bethnal Green Road, and found the Furnishings and Fixtures there Made me Feel Right at Home too!
For all those who Remember it, Nico’s always made you Feel Welcome and His Food was Just Brilliant, Nico was an Amazing Person and I always found him to have a most Generous Nature, he was a Diamond of a Character and I am not Sure if Anyone Other than his Family Feels This Way, but I Sorely Miss him Being Around, I always Felt Good as After Having Eaten There and it Wasn’t Just Because I was no Longer Hungry!
Two Visits Back at the Arches Café, I was Hungry and Had their Vegetarian Breakfast, it was Truly Good Value for Money, and Very Tasty too!
I am quite careful when it Comes to Recommending somewhere, as I feel my Friends and Family are Important to Me, and they Deserve Very Good things and as I have been using the Arches Café for 5 weeks now I will be Highly Recommending it, but Please Keep it on the Down Low as I would like to be able to still go There, and if People find my Review Acceptable, the Arches Café may be too busy to Fit me in?
I had never been Served any Food Before so I made a Point of Remembering the Experience, they were very Polite and Friendly, the Breakfast looking most appealing, and was Very Nicely Presented!
I was told Being Neighbours and Being a Caring Nature the Arches Cafe’s Owner Offered the Use of its Kitchen to Owner the of “Korean BBQ and Vegan- Mile End Road”, (5 Mile End Road, Bethnal Green,...
Read moreThe food here seems to be of decent quality and freshness, but overall feels way overpriced for what you get. I tried the Halloumi Burger and was pretty disappointed – it felt more like an afterthought than a proper menu item. One slice of halloumi (barely enough to call it a burger), tucked into a plain bun with some bits of salad that seemed like leftover garnishes. No sauce either, so it was quite dry. For the price of £11 (incl. chips), I expected something more considered and satisfying. Honestly, I don’t understand how this place has such high ratings on Google Maps.
Edit: I can appreciate that I may have caught you low on halloumi at the end of lunch service - fair enough. But to flat-out lie about having CCTV footage of me receiving a “fully stacked burger” when you don’t even know the date of my visit? That’s completely ludicrous and frankly insulting. Your response alone makes me want to lower my rating even further.
Edit #2: If you are able to provide the date of my visit, I will gladly retract my statement and apologize for...
Read moreArches Cafe – A Hidden Gem Beneath the Tracks We stopped by Arches Cafe in Bethnal Green and were genuinely surprised — in the best way. Tucked under the railway arches, this family-run spot serves up classic British comfort food with heart and hospitality.
The full English breakfast was generous and well-balanced: crispy bacon, golden eggs, and mushrooms that actually tasted fresh. The tea came in a proper mug, and the toast was just right — no frills, no fuss, just good honest food.
The atmosphere was cozy and welcoming, with friendly staff who clearly care about the place. It’s the kind of café where locals linger and newcomers feel instantly at ease.
Arches Cafe may look modest, but it delivers warmth, flavour, and a slice of East London charm. A lovely surprise — and one we’d...
