Ambiance is perfect! Cocktails are soo good! They make their own cordials and serve it with love! Went on both Friday and Saturday, saturday there was live music and the pianist was so skilled! I went when Tina and Johan were working and they are so friendly and welcoming, they make sure that you are taken care of. The overall decor of the place is a modern take on a gatsby jazz bar we perfect ambiance lighting and they have a really cute outdoor seating area which is perfect when the sun is out but well lit in the evenings! Wow. I mean wow. This place has been lovingly restored retaining its original charm whilst looking to mix up the offer into something that honours the heritage but speaks to the next generation. Super impressed by the attention to detail, keeping everything that was great about the space by upcycling tables and furniture and including the tilework and colour scheme, but at the same time adding the 'other' that places like this need to succeed. Nothing like the old the carpenters arms. So sad to see old east end boozers phased out due to gentrification. All of the interesting, down to earth characters being pushed out for soulless ‘young professionals’. A community staple full of countless memories and sprit replaced by “Smokey” cocktails served by waiters in bow ties. Such a shame. Remnants of the old London being slowly dissolved till there’s nothing left of the indigenous population. Good to see they still kept the lovely barmaid who is wonderful.
