Tiki Bar offers a truly unique and authentic experience that transports diners to a small slice of Haiti. From the moment you enter, the ambiance envelops you in a warm and welcoming atmosphere, perfectly complemented by exceptional music. The musical selection, predominantly Haitian, is not only very good but absolutely outstanding. It sets the mood and plays a crucial role in creating an immersive cultural experience.
The food, the heart of the restaurant, is simply delicious. The flavors are spectacular, with the perfect amount of spice to enhance each dish without overwhelming it. The portions are just right, leaving you satisfied without excess. Personally, the flavors transported me back to my childhood, evoking memories of large family meals. It is evident that great care is taken in the preparation of each dish, achieving an authenticity that is hard to find.
One of the few objections I have is the lack of clarity on the menu regarding the type of meat used in some dishes. It would be beneficial to specify whether the ribs, for example, are pork, beef, or another meat, as this could prevent confusion, especially for those who avoid certain types of meat for religious or personal reasons.
In addition to the food, another standout aspect of the restaurant is the owner's attention. His dedication to ensuring that every customer feels at home makes a significant difference. His hospitality and attention to detail truly contribute to making the experience unforgettable and encourage customers to return.
In summary, Tiki Bar is an exceptional place with a cozy ambiance, wonderful music, and delicious food that transports you to Haiti. Apart from the small suggestion regarding menu clarity, everything else...
Read moreI noticed the grill shak and tiki bar a few weeks ago, a short walk from my house and tried it out the other night. When i arrived (about 7pm) it was pretty dead being honest, but had some nice old lovers rock and dub playing so i was quite happy to get a beer and chill. Once my girlfriend arrived we ordered the sharing plater, the sea bass and a few side to share. My girlfriend thought we needed more but luckily we left it there because when it came it was huge! I love Jamaican / carribean food and i have to admit apart from the jerk chicken and rice n peas, i havnt tasted any of the standard carribean classics like curried goat or salt fish from this place but what i did order was amazing! Good sized portions and couldn't fault anything. I was expecting crispy skin on the sea bass and that dudnt happen but thats due to all the juices and vegetables it was served with and it tasted delicious. The sharring platter really would of been enough for us on its own and it was all cooked perfectly, plently of flavour without any one aspect being overpowering and enough sauce with out it being too much. We didnt stay for deserts as i was so full. About a quater through our meal the place started getting busier and had more of a vibe about it. The service was great too! Im going out on a limb here but as a shepherds bush resident i always rated ochi as the best......well...... nor any more! Will definitely make it a regular and from time to time they have live music there too i was told. To be honest cant wait for...

Now while this "pot of gold at the end of the rainbow" does not stand out from its surroundings or have that "waw" curb appeal, the food that comes out of it's kitchen is like finding a DIAMOND in the ruff.
It's owners are the warmest, relaxed, beautiful and chilled characters of human you will ever want to encounter! From the moment you step in you feel at home, like they've been waiting for you all your life! Some of the drinks have the quirkiest names but the flavors combined in those glasses will make you wanna kiss the bar mixer.
No need to dress up....unless you want to! It's like stepping into a Caribbean Island right off the streets of Acton.
The menu is mouth watering, our group of 3 did not know which to decide on, everything was delectable. We settled on the Chef special; fried pork with rice and peas and the smoked ribs. At the end of the meal we were asked "How was it?"...the evidence was in the plate...not a grain of rice was left untouched! The only thing left to do was to lick the plate dry (covers face), it was THAT AMAZING!
It's no wonder Ed Sheeran made it his favorite spot in West London!
We all bought extra food to take home to our families and we're already planning our next visit.
I advise that you book a table in advance to avoid disappointment.
Thank you Grill Shack...
