Tinto Coffee Shop is a cozy spot that certainly has its ups and downs. While it’s a bit on the overpriced side, the coffee itself is undeniably good. Did I mention they make really good coffee and hot chocolate? With rich flavours and perfectly brewed options, you won’t be disappointed when it comes to your caffeine fix. The portion sizes are generous, making it a satisfying choice for those looking to fill up. The cafe is open until 9 PM, which is a definite plus for night owls or anyone needing a late study session. There are plenty of seats at the front, which are particularly nice during summer days when you can enjoy the fresh air. However, the decor has a quirky 70s vibe that may not be to everyone’s taste, featuring some uncomfortable foldable bus station chairs that don’t quite add to the ambiance. The seating at the back could definitely use some improvement to enhance comfort and usability. The lighting in Tinto is funky but quite dim, creating a relaxed atmosphere. The back area offers a few additional seats, but the front is the prime location, often filled with students and hipsters enjoying their drinks. When it comes to charging points, there are only a couple available, which can be frustrating if you’re hoping to work for an extended period. The Wi-Fi speed is decent, sitting around 43 Mbps down, but it might not be fast enough for heavy downloads or streaming. While the customer service is polite, it could certainly use a bit more warmth. The barista needs to talk and smile more to genuinely create a vibe that makes you want to come back. They do serve the coffee to your table, which is a nice touch, and they don’t hover over you, allowing you to enjoy your time. However, it would be nice to see the tables cleaned a bit more regularly. The cleanliness of the shop is commendable, with well-maintained toilets and a tidy space. However, it would be even better if the cleaning happened more frequently throughout the day rather than just at closing time. In summary, Tinto Coffee Shop is a mixed bag. The quality of the coffee, outstanding hot chocolate, and generous portion sizes make it worth a visit, especially if you’re looking for a place to relax or study. Just be prepared for the higher prices and limited charging options. Overall, it’s a solid spot to grab a coffee and enjoy some cake!

I went in to get a Snog, something which I’m fond of. After queuing, I was told the machine wasn’t working, so went to walk away but was called back because it apparently was working. Anyway, wherever I’ve had a Snog before, there appears to be a clear pricing structure. Looking online at the Snog menu, you’re supposed to pay £2.95 for a little Snog, and that includes a sauce type topping ‘on the house’. A little Snog with one topping (inc free syrup) should be £ 3.70. I was told it’s £3.95 for a little Snog, that’s with NO sauce and NO topping. To have a topping added 70p so I was charged £4.70 for a small frozen yogurt, one topping and no sauce/syrup. I think Snogs are expensive and overpriced even by the prices they put out on their menu, but this I felt was so overpriced and I didn’t want to pay yet another 70p for some syrup that it actually meant I sadly didn’t even enjoy it. I did question the price as I know it’s significantly more than I have ever paid before, but I was just told “we have a different system” Daft thing is I was enticed into the shop in the first place by a notice in the window saying: “Dear friends, If you are hungry and have no money to pay, Come in for a free mealbox / coffee anytime. You’re loved You are love” Needless to say, I didn’t FEEL loved. Just would have liked a bit of sauce.

22nd February 2024, just tried their Fruit Granola, almond milked bowl, the manager saw me and immediately came to show me this on his phone and I happily said Yes to trying it and let me tell you it was Amazing! The fruits , Mango, strawberries, blueberries and banana were all sweet and juicy. Enjoyed it, thanks guys as usual great experience and something new I tried. I have been coming here a year now and i have to say , I have had the most amazing customer service from the beautiful Laura/Lara and manager Paul who always remembers me and the staff are always so welcoming and always go the extra bit to make things great. Their breakfast has always been delish. The presentation and the chef is amazing with the creativity. I will highly recommend anyone to come here. I have been recommending them to my friends and business associates. Keep up the great, friendly customer service. Always welcoming!! Thank you for making my mornings at Tinto so warm, lovely and special.
