Can only say that it was amazing here. Came on a wet Sunday in August when we walked in looking like drowned rats. They were so patient whilst we dried off and changed clothes in the toilets. But enough about us. So for a party of 10, I'll start off with the food. The starters were all of a good size. The calamari, though small, were plentiful and not overcooked with a nice chunky tartar sauce. The garlic bread was great, not overly oily, and just the right amount of garlic. The BBQ chicken wings were well-cooked and had the right amount of sauce. The only letdown was that there aren't any child starters but an adult's starters of nachos served them very well. The mains were all great as well. The pizzas again weren't greasy and came out piping hot. The ribs fell off the bone but, unfortunately, didn't come with any sides to accompany them. The seafood special is definitely a must and kept our picky pescatarian happy. The bacon and cheese beefburger was well put together and didn't fall all over the place as you can get. The children's mains were equally good. The kid's burger was like a mini version of the adults and the chicken bites were all that you could want for your little ones. When it can time to end the night and they brought out the cake that we had left there the day before to surprise my daughter, they lowered the lights and put music on for us whilst we sang Happy Birthday. For a small place that you could easily overlook.... DON'T. They will make you feel at home (even one of the regulars that came in after didn't bat an eyelid at us being there and joined in with our birthday singing) 😊

Went in for the first time to meet up with people for football. I didn’t need to eat, I took children in and we had tea and they had orange juice. They helpfully split it into two beakers for them. They also helpfully topped up my teapot with more hot water. It’s a great place, friendly. Screens showing early football match (Brighton v Chelsea). It was a bit cramped, but I think it was a very busy time and it was raining very hard so it didn’t appear that sitting out was appealing to anyone. It got easier near kick off time as people left. My overall impression was of it being a very welcoming and friendly place.

I arrived to this place by chance but what a nice surprise. Service feels homely and super kind. Food went above and beyond. My English breakfast was super nice, with the bacon and vegetables charcoal grilled... honestly a great twist to what I'm used to! Prices are reasonable for 2022. I cannot recommend this place more and will definitely come back.

Awful experience at Bishops last Sunday. Firstly, there was only one new waitress running the whole restaurant who was unable to cope with the 20 or so guests. It wasn't her fault but she was totally out of her depth. They ran out of coffee and neither she nor the chef knew where the beans were kept. So we ended up getting a takeaway from another cafe.

We had to ask to order food, and one of the party was a Coeliac and this was made clear to the waitress but when their food arrived it had sourdough and beans with it. And when it was pointed out that the food would need to be remade as this could cause a reaction all the kitchen did was remove the gluten containing items and sent the food back out! The set breakfasts were missing items, another plate had everything on thst the person didn't ask for, and 2 people didn't get their food until we were literally ready to leave.

We asked to speak to the manager and was told he was on holiday. We then asked to speak to someone in charge and the waitress called her supervisor who told her that they were also on a day off and hung up on her!

In the end we left without paying as there was no one who we could speak to about the...

Unfortunately after many times coming here on Sunday I came with family 8 of us, the waitress was run of her feet poor girl, two off us didn’t receive our breakfast she couldn’t make coffee as know one new where the coffee beans where and we had to purchase coffee in cafe next door, as for breakfast which I hyped up to my family travelling to London I was disgusted missing items on 4 breakfasts also my brother in law ordered just egg and bacon as he’s celiac which we explain in detail when his arrived it had toast and beans on we was mortified, this was sent bk to be completely changed, 2 mins later it’s bk just stuff removed which on food standards as an allergy this should have been re made. After this I wanted to complain as two ppl still hadn’t eaten and about the allergy problem, the manger was on holiday the lovely poor young girl called the supervisor she said she wasn’t talking to me as it’s her day off and put the phone down. After coming here often over the past couple of years I’m very disappointed with the seriousness this wasn’t taken in, I won’t be returning and you need to train your staff allergies are extremely dangerous....
