We are regular customers to Tony’s pita Ealing. They recently increased their prices from £8.50 to £9.50 a wrap. They used to have a weekly half price offer and they now have removed that and only offer minor deals. At the same time the quality of their food has been significantly decreased, turning the whole thing into a mockery. The last 3 times we ordered, the food came soggy and sloppy. The last two times they delivered wrong orders, adding ingredients that we explicitly highlighted to be removed.
All this while waiting at least for an hour to receive your food. Last time we said nothing, but tonight, when they once again delivered the wrong order, we had to call and ask for a replacement. They were unable to provide this.
It appears that one of the staff member was aware of the wrong order as when I called to complain they confirmed that they saw that the order was made wrongly. I just dont understand why would you allow this order to leave your restaurant, if you know/suspect that it is wrong. What if I was allergic to the ingredient you added without my consent?
They used to be amazing, with fresh, tasty ingredients, but it seems that they are now profit spoiled and they have truly neglected customer service and food quality.
I am more than happy to pay a high fee, but only if this is reflected on the quality of food and service. In fact we pay around £30 each time. But I won’t pay a ridiculously increased price with the excuse of increased costs, when the quality is so poor and attention is not paid to a basic instruction.
I truly wonder how they have received an award for the quality of their restaurant.
You really need to fix this guys, if you want to survive in such a wide...
Read moreDisappointing Experience at Tony’s Pitta in Ealing Broadway. We tried to order the Chicken Gyros meal for £13.95, which was on display, but the waiter, Panos, said he wasn’t aware of it. He offered a 10% discount on dishes from the paper menu, but those started from £16, so the discount didn’t really help. When we asked why it was on display if they didn’t offer it, he went to check with the chef and then told us it had something to do with the menu not being updated due to a change in ownership.
Feeling unsure about the situation, we decided to order Tony’s Special Chicken Pitta for £7.99 with a soft drink. We also asked about dessert, and I even pointed to the one we wanted in the glass display. Panos noted it down and confirmed the order.
While waiting for our food, we noticed the bathroom door was fully open the entire time, causing an unpleasant smell to build up. The table we sat at was wobbly, which made things uncomfortable. When the food arrived, we had to take napkins from a nearby table because none were given.
After finishing our wraps, Panos cleared our plates, but the dessert never came. We waited, then got tired and asked for the bill. When I introduced myself and asked for his name, he got defensive and asked why I needed it. I explained that I just wanted to know who served us since we never got our dessert. Instead of acknowledging the issue, he tried to shift the blame, saying we should have reminded him. There was no mention of the dessert on the bill either.
As we were leaving, I mentioned the situation to another staff member, but Panos got confrontational, so we just walked out. Overall, not a good experience, and I wouldn’t...
Read moreWARNING: if you go to Tony's, ask for the offer when you order.
We just went to Tony's for lunch basically becuase you can get a big platter and a drink for £11.99 (advertised as 30% off compared to the normal price). However, if you don't clearly specify you want the £11.99 offer when your order, they will charge you the full price.
We probably thought common sense will prevail and they will assume we were going there for the offer. Who might be willing to pay an extra 30% for no reason?
By the way, you get the same food/portion whether you pay full price or just £11.99.
Anyhow, after complaining for a while they agreed to refund the difference. They give us two options either cash or refund the credit card.
When I ask for the money to be refunded to the credit card I used to pay for the meal, they asked for my personal bank details for a bank transfer. When I refused to give them my bank details the owner got offended. He could not understand why I would refuse to give a total stranger my personal bank details. He said he was only trying to help.
Honestly, who will give his/her personal bank details to a complete stranger? Am I completely wrong?
Eventually we got the £10 back in cash.
Personally,...
