SAVE YOUR MONEY! North London (Green lanes) is where the REAL food is. We gave them a ring asking if they had entertainment that Saturday as they have shown in their pictures and website. The guy said no, so my family and I went about our day. Fast forward 5 minutes, the restaurant calls back saying they had entertainment that day. My family and I were a little suspicious but due to the such high ratings it had, we looked past it. We travelled SO far for essentially a Brunch meal followed by what they called a 'platter' for 5 people. This platter looked like it could feed two people MAXIMUM. Minutes went by and there was no entertainment like we were promised. The food was horrible and we were lied to. I am convinced the owner has called his restaurant 'Turkuaz' to gain more customers in the thought of thinking they sell GOOD Turkish food. They literally gave us sausages and burek for DINNER. The location was horrible and let me not forget to mention that people around us were staring which really made us feel uncomfortable. I do not know of the reason they were staring but it may have been because we were new customers unlike them. Overall, horrible restaurant, I'll give the food a 2/10 and let me repeat again how we were lied to. Over priced too, might I add, definitely not worth £100+ (which is what we paid). If you are looking for EXCELLENT TURKISH restaurants, I suggest you try any restaurant in Green Lanes - in particular Gokyuzu, which is where we usually go and the bill is always around £80 for 5 people with AMAZING food unlike here. If you're looking for somewhere a little less pricey, I suggest you try Capital in Wood Green - Also amazing with beyond reasonable prices. If I could give this place 0 stars I would. Anyone who has rated this place high has...
Read moreI swear this is the last time I’ll get a delivery from Turkuaz or go to eat at this place. Chose the former and ordered lamb chops, rice and salad. All arrived piping hot but that’s the only thing that I can say as a plus. Turkuaz used to be great - beautifully flavoured food and good presentation. Friendly staff who took pride. On the takeaway side, it’s as if the chefs don’t care. No real seasoning of the chops occurred - just some horrid tomato based oil brushed over the chops with salt to seal it on the grill. They were probably marinaded in the same tomato based marinade. Result? Bland and unappetising. Certainly not good. The rice (which seems to come with a few grains of sweetcorn thrown in for flavour) stood still like a gelatinous mound. All stuck together, if I cut it with my knife, it stood up by itself… and was completely devoid of flavour. Whomever cooks it should have used a rice cooker… The salad? Well, they’re generous with red cabbage, lettuce and onion. I counted x3 micro pieces of tomato - nearly undetectable. Barely any cucumber. The last time I had a doner wrap from Turkuaz, I was sorely disappointed. The last time we ate in the restaurant, we said we weren’t going back. But for the fact that it’s really well known and established, I wouldn’t go back after so many let downs on the food but once again I tried and today it was a fail. Horrible food. Threw two chops and the rice away. I definitely won’t order or go to Turkuaz again. I do...
Read moreAvoid like the plague. Went there for dinner at the end of May. The service was abysmal and the waiter felt he could be over the top familiar (I went alone with my three children). It is also expensive for what it is. I got a fine early July as apparently their car park is private. It is one of those dodgy private parking company which you cannot call. I wrote a letter with a copy of my bank statement showing proof of a meal. No reply and then got a second letter this week for a higher fine and saying that if I don't pay my credit score will be affected. They obviously ignored my first letter. I went to the restaurant two days ago, was welcomed by a very rude waiter who laughed at the fact that my fine was from May and that it was such an issue I should have come earlier, not understanding the fact that I wrote to the company direct. He said his manager would call me. Three days letter no phone call. I called the restaurant and was told that it is for me to pay and that they can't help and that notices are given on their menus. For a start I honestly didn't see it on the menu and I realised that they have a machine where the waiter inputs your Reg when you come in. Nobody asked for my reg when iI came in. As for reading it on the menu, as I said I didn't see it. I came in with three children one of them a baby, the other one a toddler. I don't have the luxury to study the menu in details. Disgusting behaviour, disgusting...
