The worst experience I've had in a wagamama. The place is hidden away up some stairs and at the back so took some time to find it . Once there it always amazes me why they don't sit people straight away there was a queue but loads of empty tables . I suppose it's some sort of power game . Once someone actually acknowledged me . The usual info of this is wagamama as if they have to run through a script , the problem being is they lack any human connection . You could be served by a robot the staff are so emotionally devoid . Then a ridiculous 30 mins wait for anything to arrive even though one of the things was green tea which was Luke warm at best . The staff were too busy being robots to actually notice you might want their attention . Then the duck guyoza was almost thrown on the table without any enjoy your meal pleasantries . Then I noticed they were under cooked which I couldn't fathom as the place wasn't that busy . So I eat the edges and left the rest as was getting by then . Then the Luke warm miso soup and plate of the same pickles . Usually there's a selection but not this time . All the same which didn't really get the taste buds going as I noticed the lack of appearances from the staff I waited with to spring the trap for when they brought my noodles . Walop . Can I have the bill please nice and loud before they scuttled off. The noodles being ok temperature but it was a case of hunt the meat . £15 !!! For a plate of noodles and some veg with the odd bit of prawn and chicken . I know they have to make a profit but come on !!! Anyway the girl came back at last and said pay by Qr code but I replied I'd rather pay the old fashioned way by card please . Anyway, she trots for the car machine . Comes back . I've almost finished eating and gave me a receipt . I've had enough of the sub standard Wagga noodles so get up and walk out . I decide to take a photo of the culprit in the kitchen and some lad comes out whilst I'm standing there taking notes of how awful it was as exclames excuse me sir you haven't paid to which I reply yes I have I've got a receipt and shows t the the lad . He repeats and adds you'll have to come inside and pay . I repeat here's my receipt young man I am not coming inside . He then grabs my arm and says I'm going to have to insist . I by this time am slightly unimpressed and say if you believe me to be a thief call the police . I'd like to see their face when I tell them you first approached me whilst I waited outside !!! Not had it on my toes to avoid payment . Once again he insisted I was like come on then let's go inside and show you up for the idiots you are .. once inside and I explained my disgust to the manager . The young girl who I paid came over and said yes he has paid by card . I replied Yes that's why I have a receipt!! All very hollow apologies flowing then . I've been to many a wagamama and This one is the absolute pits . A car-buncle on the otherwise decent chain of...
Read moreFood is very expensive so be prepared to spend money. I ordered the saku saku duck. Would not recommend as it t was very crispy and not at all what you would expect when ordering a meat meal. It was so crispy that it was crumbling whenever you try and eat it however the news that came with it were nice so it wasn't a total loss but definitely not worth 20 pounds. With two other people we all orders two drinks So in total 6 drinks and all different. We all ordered tea and a normal drink. The best tea is the lemon and ginger. The other teas are not worth it and just taste like normal tea no matter what it may say on the menus. I ordered a matcha drink and it looked good but tasted mid. It was three layers of what tasted like semi-skimmed milk in the matcha level I'm not even sure in between level was and then the bottom level was syrup of some kind when I mix it together it just tastes like the milk. My cousin got the tonic lemonade and that also tasted bad but if you like tonic water I guess it's good for you. The two other people i was with both ordered chicken ramen. And they think that this wagamama in specific is not as good as other wagamama is that we have been to before meaning that it's not the franchise that start but it's this Pacific restaurant or maybe just a specific staff that was working when we were there. I'm not sure but it's been nice in the past and this time it was just mid With the deserts it came up to 95 pounds which is just excessive for food that wasn't all that. The desserts were like £9 each for a slice of cheesecake and meringue type cake that was described in a brownie way. Overall your best of going to a different wagamas...
Read moreI wasn’t directly involved in the situation but witnessed it unfold while having dinner at the restaurant, so I feel compelled to say something. A family with young children (including a baby and children around 4-8) were seated near the front door, where cold air was constantly rushing in due to delivery drivers and customers frequently leaving the door open. The family politely asked to move seats, clearly concerned for their children's comfort. I completely sympathise with their request — watching the eldest child get up repeatedly to shut the door, and hearing the mother calmly try to explain the issue to staff, it was hard not to feel for them.
Unfortunately, the way the staff, particularly one of the managers, handled the situation was disappointing. Instead of offering understanding or even a bit of warmth in the conversation, the tone was unnecessarily cold and abrupt. The request was met with an unhelpful attitude and what felt like a lack of empathy. Even as a bystander, the interaction left a sour taste and disrupted what was meant to be an enjoyable evening out.
To be clear, the family was not rude or unreasonable in any way, they simply wanted a more comfortable place to eat, especially with young children. The response they received was undeserved, and honestly, the staff’s handling of the entire situation cast a shadow over the atmosphere in the restaurant.
I completely agree with the points the family raised and share their frustration. While I understand restaurants can have staffing constraints or policies, there is always room for basic kindness and professionalism. Sadly, both were lacking...
