I have been to different branches of Zizzi before and it was a first time visit to the Wembley branch. I am born and bred in Wembley and could have been a regular client had my visit gone well however I will if I ever get a 'Zizzi' urge take my business to a further afield branch. We arrived at the restaurant to be greeted immediately and seated. Great start. Our server however appeared to have either been new ( With lack of training) or incompetent. He spoke with an Italian accent and was extremely giggly whilst taking our order.I actually pondered if he was somehow 'under the influence' in retrospect.
I was told my initial choice of order was not available. That's fine. I know restaurants can encounter glitches or problems and run out of stuff so I had an alternative dish in mind.
I have a London accent which is not uncommon whatsoever ( I also have a grasp of Spanish language and some Italian words are simular in pronunciation) and I first attempted to order the 'chicken' out of three main meat dishes on the menu. He didn't have a clue what I was on about and was mumbling to himself. I was then forced to refer to the dish ( I accurately pronounced it) in its Italian form ( again out of three different main dishes) and the waiter started getting into hysterics at the way I said it in my London ( not Cockney) accent although I prounounced it accurately ( I didn't know Zizzi had a sideline in Wannabe comedians) he kept repeating it to himself incoherently giggling. I felt uncomfortable as to why he was laughing as he certainly wasn't engaging with us on any personal level as he ordered. Felt a bit patronising. I didn't complain as I didn't see anyone within the busy restaurant who appeared to be a manager or taking responsibility.
Food was nice although the vegetables were undercooked. Our 'possibly intoxicated' waiter also dumped our bottle of prosecco on the table and sauntered off. I think he may have been finishing his shift as we didn't see him again. He dumped the bottle we ordered leaving my colleague struggling to open it!!! At £24.95 a bottle I would have expected it to be opened and poured. Luckily we managed to get hold of another server who was very nice and helpful.
Dessert was divine however it did take time from the time it was prepared ( could see it from the table) to reach us. About 10 mins in fact after it was clearly prepared.
Kitchen staff despite undercooked veg seemed contientious and busy. Just a shame about the 'possibly'...
Read moreMy daughter and 2 sisters went to Zizi's at the designer outlet last night and it was the worst experience we have ever had!
We got there at about 9pm and it was warm and inviting.
We ordered our starters, however when my daughters cocktail arrived it looked basic and upon taste -awful! It was exchanged for another one still not very nice. Our one sister arrived 10 mins later ( we had ordered her starter) and another waitress came over and took our main order.
Soon we saw our main order coming out but no sign of our starters! When we queried this she took the mains away and came out with the starters! Disgusting! Our garlic bread was burnt to a crisp, curled up at the corners and garlic butter spread on top looking hard, worst upon touch it was stone cold! My sisters bruchetta was just a roll cut in half with baby tomatoes cut in half and pesto dumped in the middle, the bread had not been toasted, the appearance was poor and my other sisters garlic bread with caralimised onions did not appear at all!
Of course we sent it all back and asked for our mains which was cold but we were hungry so ate what we could and took the rest home to warm up. All in all not a good experience. When we requested the manager we were sent over a waitress who could not address our complaint at all! She eventually went away and came back with a smile saying that we would not be charged for the food only the drinks!
Not a good night at all and there was another altercation on another table with yet another waitress taking the flak! Not good enough Zizi's. I'm surprised as we have usually have such a good experience with Zizi's however not last...
Read moreDisappointing Experience at ZIZI Restaurant
I recently dined at ZIZI restaurant and was thoroughly disappointed with the experience. The food, service, and overall value were far from satisfactory.
Firstly, the £17 Rustica Pinoli pizza was a major letdown. The dish looked nothing like the picture on the menu. It was supposed to be topped with various ingredients, but in reality, there was only a single basil leaf in the center. This was a stark contrast to the advertised image and left us feeling short-changed.
The drinks were equally unimpressive. The Raspberry & Mint Cooler, which sounded refreshing, turned out to be very basic and lacked any distinctive flavor.
Customer service was another significant issue. Despite the size of the restaurant, there were only three waiters serving the entire space, making it incredibly difficult to get their attention. On multiple occasions, we tried to call a waiter but struggled due to the understaffing. When we finally received our bill, it took an additional 7 to 8 minutes just to get the card machine brought to our table.
One of the few redeeming aspects of the meal was the New Mozzarella, Basil & Tomato Arancini. These starters were delicious and a rare highlight in an otherwise disappointing dining experience.
Overall, the kids didn't enjoy their meals and ended up not eating much, which made the £67 we spent for four people feel like a waste of money. This included two drinks, two starters, a pizza, and a lasagna. Unfortunately, given the poor quality of food and service, I cannot recommend ZIZI restaurant. It was a disappointing outing and not worth the...
