Great local coffee shop. Even though a small place their seating arrangement works quite well. Lots of natural light coming in. On good days outdoor seating is offered. The menu offers a great range of typical brunch dishes as well as a range of lunch dishes including sandwiches and paninis. I especially liked the option of waffles even though did not try them. I had the eggs royale which were delicious. Only recommendation would be the muffins were not toasted enough if not at all. Service could have been quicker but it's understandable since it was Sunday peak brunch time plus I could tell they were fulfilling deliveroo orders. Overall I liked and it will go again to try the other menu options.

Revolting. Overpriced greasy spoon. My daughter ordered a halloumi burger which was so full of mayo and soggy it was impossible to eat. I ordered a veggie breakfast and the tiny poached eggs were more like hard eggs, the spinach hadn’t been washed as it was gritty and tasted of soil. Bread felt like it had been through the toaster at least a couple of times. Hash browns and fries were definitely of the frozen kind. On top of it all the service is far from friendly. Lady at the till looks fed up. Thoroughly disappointing. Oh, and terrible choice of music (unless you’re into Meghan Trainor, that is). What happened to this place? It used to be good.

Very lovely cafe on Roman road. The service was quite quick. the workers were lovely but non responsive at times. The food was absolutely amazing. This is definitely a good environment to study as well: there are plenty outlets and the tables are sturdy and large enough to hold a laptop and book if necessary. EDIT: one day after eating at this place I suffered from the worst possible stomach pains, vomiting and bowel issues. I am positive that I got food poisoning from here. A shame, as the food was very tasty, but I question the hygiene of the food preparation.

I have been to this cafe and continue to visit often, especially for a cup of coffee to work during weekdays but the two times i went here for breakfast i was really disappointed. first time we got a waffle to share and it did take quite a while to come out and it tastes okay but it was a little too hard for me. I prefer a softer waffle. Second time we ordered a shakshuka and a farmers breakfast and the eggs were unfortunately just not doing it for us. Mine were really raw (i don't mean the yolk- i like a runny yolk but when the white of a poached egg is completely translucent then it's clearly raw still). The poached eggs also have a tendency to taste vinegary. The staff are really lovely though! And for a hot drink it is a great cafe! Just maybe not such great breakfast. The pancakes were delicious though if it were cheaper maybe it would...

Worst place I have had sandwiches in all London. Simple toasted sandwiches, completely tasteless,no sauce inside even if we asked for it. Over priced. Paid 6,50 for sandwiches that are worth less than £1 each. Haven't eaten at home or anywhere else something so poorly made. I am very very disappointed, didn't expect this from this place. We bought all and all 5 sandwiches , which was a fair amount of money and we felt really fooled. Don't understand how anyone thinks this is allright to even sell. Would not recommend to anyone. Go next door! Zealand café has to really rethink the quality of their sandwiches. Hopefully you will consider an improvement. To be fair I would want to have a refund for this. It was so bad. Very disappointed especially when you don't have a lot of money and then spend it on something that makes you feel...

Where to start! waited over an hour for food, when we were told there was a 30-40 minute wait. We weren't the only table experiencing massive delays, no one apologised or communicated with us when we asked how much longer the food would be had a cinnamon bun to start with to tide us over, was told it was fresh that day but you literally couldn't cut through it it was so hard and stale when the brunch did finally arrive, it was the blandest, most uninspiring food we've ever had. The English muffins were literally plonked on the plate with some salmon and a poached egg slapped on top. The best thing about the meal was the fresh fruit served alongside it.

There are some stand out breakfast and brunch options on Roman Road, Zealand Cafe has got to be the...
