Went to Zin with my nieces and nephew for an evening out.

We found that the service was very attentive and courteous, gave good recommendations and checked on us regularly without being overbearing. They did make a small faux pa's in that they didn't ask how we'd like the steak but this was quickly fixed when pointed out and the steak was cooked to our liking. Oddly, they didn't have any steak knives so the steak was served precut.

In terms of food, our favourites were the lamb tagine and the grilled chicken. The whipped harissa butter and bread was also lovely and the mocktails were delicious. The chicken pastilla was unusual to all of us as it had a sweet cinnamon flavour but we all enjoyed it.

The steak and mac n cheese split the table, with two people loving it and two thinking it was mediocre at best. The much applauded bang-bang "shrimp" delivered in texture but sadly lacked flavour. They could have used more sriracha and something to make them taste more... Shrimpy. The tacos were also lacking and would have benefitted from a punchier salsa. The smash burger was good but nothing to write home about and the truffle fries needed more truffle.

The complementary Moroccan tea at the end of the meal was a nice touch. Overall we all agreed that as a new restaurant, there are a few teething problems but we had a great time. We probably won't be back as we're not local but it's definitely worth trying if you're...

Went with friends. They promote outside that you can bring your own alcohol at no charge. Following dinner we were informed T&C applied and went on to demand £8.00 for us bringing our own bottles of wine! When asked to see their T&C they admitted they didn't actually have one to provide! Misleading, fraudulent. They have 2 rooms to dine in. One you can drink. The other you can smoke but no drink lol insane. So overall, out to con and mislead customers. Way over priced and mediocre food. Do not recommend. Oh..and very quiet and boring on top of everything else.

Response to Reply.

As I mentioned and you have choosen not to aknowledge - When asked to be shown your alleged T&C you admitted you have no documented Terms & Conditions which are required legally as the customer has it to refer to and either enter into agreement or not. Not that you add charges as you wish ad-lib. It's dishonest, sneaky and undermines your customers on many levels.

I would not recommend you based on that alone.

I would happily have tipped more than you took. Had you been honest. Which is a much desired quality as builds trust...

A fairly large group of us visited recently for drinks and shisha in the garden. The place has been done up well since the renovation and there is a little more space for people. The shisha was okay but only really one person servicing for making and coals which is not really enough for a place of this size; we ordered seven alone. The let down on the rating was service. Our order was taken got wrong so many times as well as the first five items completely missing and had to be reordered with someone else because the waitress had no idea what she was doing. Even after that we probably waited a further 20 minutes, having already waited 30 minutes for our drinks. Lots of food items unavailable and for the second night of opening that has got to be poor. They really need to do some restaurant and bar service training with the staff. I think it was much better when it was La Comptoir and I used to...

We made a reservation for dinner to watch the moroccan football team. To my surprise when I arrived, the table I was given (as shown in the video) is so close to the TV which was not even straight in front of the table, I had to stay with my neck rotated through out the night. I asked to change the seats as there were still some other tables free and they did not accept my request. The worst part is when they served food on my table knowing that I HAVE NOT ordered yet, then I heard a colleague of the waiter telling him that the people actually MOVED to another table, so basically they gave our place to someone else before we arrive. All of this knowing that we were clients coming quite often there. I would NEVER come back. The service there is horrible I would not recommend. I would even give 0 star if possible.

Went on a quiet Sunday evening. We ordered food and cocktails and had a decent deal of 3 for 2. The food was good. Maybe the menu tries to tap into a lot of different cuisines (French, Morrocan, Italian) which for me is too many; I just think it's better to focus on one and perfect it. The Zin Diyali was the best cocktail on the menu, fresh flavour, couldn't taste the alcohol but definitely felt it. Only issue I had was because we chose to sit next to the window at the front, it could do with an extra heater or two because we were a bit cold.
