The White Horse — Restaurant in Maidstone

We booked the Festive menu for Sunday lunch. Our party of six was reduced to four but we were quickly accommodated with a smaller table shortly after arrival. We were seated in the annex upstairs. Immediately there seemed to be a lack of communication as our server was unaware of the menu we had chosen and the drinks that accompanied it. The starters arrived reasonably promptly and were okay. The festive menu price allowed for main menu items to be chosen without supplements. When asked for our choice of mains we were told that the steak option was not available. This was the premier option which came with a £7.50 supplement if not choosing the premier package. The alternative options arrived which had to be returned as the pork belly was not cooked properly and nor did it match the description set out in the menu. The server agreed to offer alternative options but we were then told "no salmon". The turkey dinner replacement arrived within the 10 minutes promised but was poor. There was no front of service personnel available throughout the service. Even after letting the server know we wouldn't be staying for deserts our plates remained uncollected for at least 15 minutes whilst what personnel was around wandered around other tables aimlessly and with any sense of urgency or customer service knowhow. We were given a suitable reduction to our bill but left knowing that the management do not care about the quality of the food that they put out. We were not provided with any apology. Went there today for the first rime

They have a very large car park at the rear of the premises free to use for customers

The pub is quite large clean and tidy and very nice lady barmaid friendly and efficient

Prices and read fine not expensive

They do Sunday lunch menu but I think that is the only food they do during the week

Bar snacks available

Good old fashioned pub

Was not at all.busy when I visited it which was a Saturday lunchtime

No idea if it gets busy in the evening

Disgusting service. booking made 3 weeks in advance for 7 of us for birthday dinner. arrived to be told barely nothing on the menu available. they admitted they should of rung us earlier. we were then left to decide if we wanted to stay. As we left my partner was laughed at by a member of staff because he said thanks for nothing. very rude young staff. if you book people in you need to have enough food...
