Affleck & Brown — Restaurant in Manchester

An absolute shambles of a place. I feel sorry for the staff who have to work under that manager, quote on of the bartenders words 'she's absolutely crazy'. Decided to make up rules as she went along. We got on with the staff all of our visit, until the manager decided to tell them she no longer wanted us in the bar, but for no reason.

In the end, her reasoning was, we had crisps on the table (which we had specifically asked the staff remember if we could get, after he told us the bar had sold out of crisps). This was over an hour prior also, so she kicked us out, for eating a tube of Pringles an hour before. There were also people in the bar eating Go Falafel and take out burgers, after they also asked the staff. If we were told to move our chairs (as we were trying to watch the game, so we could see), we did, despite not causing any harm or being in the way in the slightest.

Shamefully, the bouncers followed these crazy rules and requests. Telling people to stop clapping, 60 minutes into the England game.

Never have I experienced such a weird and controlling situation in a bar, the staff looked embarrassed to be there.

Popped in for a cocktail with some friends during the happy hour and after waiting for the best part of 20 minutes for the clearly inexperienced barmaid to make 2 cocktails for another customer before serving us, I was told that I couldn't order any cocktails because they were too busy. Pretty shoddy for a cocktail bar to be honest! Next time, maybe just get one of the more experienced members of staff to make the cocktails rather than deciding it's not allowed. Will...
