Establishment- Afghan Cuisine, wilmslow road Rusholme

I’ve not been here before as when I get the kobeda craving I have always gone to rusholme chippy, so thought I’d break the routine and try here as it’s a couple of doors down

Boss man was friendly and went through menu etc

Order:

Mixed kebab Lamb chops Rubicon guava Salad and sauces separate

Meat/Meats -

Chicken was really nice as you would expect all clay oven cooked Kobeda lots of flavour but bit too greasy for me Lamb chops, lovely properly charred and tasty 7/10

Bread - freshly made and nice, but kobeda grease soaked the bread so it ended up really thin, RC is better 6/10

Accompaniments (Salads & Sauces) - Salad was nice and really fresh Yoghurt sauce was very nice and thick not runny like a lot of other places Chilli sauce let it down it’s not a sauce it’s more a chutney, not for me RC chilli sauce is leagues above

Value - £10 kebab, £7 lamb chops £1 can rubicon Total £18 which I don’t mind for these big kebabs, was enough for 2 people, but for me it’s still over priced

Bread fell to bits because of kobeda grease Can’t say note than that tbh Knife and fork job at home Try this in the car and it will be game over 😆

Conclusion-

Nice and worth a try for something different, but I prefer the bread/chilli...

Afghan Cuisine

Food Ok the food is genuinely very authentic and unique and oh my god their Alfahm chicken (grilled chicken and rice and salad and Qabily Pillow (lamb, rice salad, and their special side of potato in sauce with little chick peas)they also come with drink. Literally I go to Manchester only to eat from there. The food is absolutely delicious. Definitely big portions so when you are starving you will be thrilled with your portion. The Qabily rice 😭😭😭 is soooooo delicious. Even though I am not a big fan of lamb and I dont like it in general I find it verrryyy delicious there and I always find it scrumptious. Also make sure you order their freshly made proper Nan bread. Honestly I can’t even say how delicious it is. I usually take a few away with me and keep them in the fridge and then heat them up when I want to eat them.

Price: Very surprised with how cheap they actually are compared with what you get. Portions are very generous.😁For someone like me who loves food, I am sooo happy with that.

Cleanliness: Never complained about their cleanliness.

Staff are always friendly. I always leave tips because I am happy with the service every time.

Would I go back again?

Of course I would! I am already a regular customer but they don’t...

I ordered half chicken with rice , I got everything as I ordered , but while eating I found some pieces of meat and some lamb bones covered with the rice , so I asked one of the staff whether they cook the rice separately or with the meat just to understand how I got pieces of meat when I asked for chicken with rice , however, the guy that I asked he confirmed that they cook the rice separately! so when I showed him the pieces of meat and bones that I found in my plate he got freaky and asked me to talk to the cashier! When I was leaving I showed the plate to the guy at the cashier desk and he denied and told me that they cook the rice with meat at once ! And while he was telling me you could tell he is lying ! But why ! Is it because they take the rest of the customers’ plates and reserve it ?!, otherwise it is not possible to have pieces of meat and bones in a chicken plate plus the way they confirm then dined cooking the rice separately just doesn’t look right neither professional.
