Went here as a big group of 10. I was extremely excited as some of my friends were here all the way from bham. Disappointed isn’t even the right word. Firstly they only take cash or bank transfer. Altogether we spent around £100. As one of my friends was eating, she got a hair come out of her burger. Was a tiny stiff hair probably a beard hair. Went down to get her a refund and they refused. Guy on the counter was so rude and tried to indicate that she’d eaten most her food and then asked for a refund. Which is what really bothered me as we’re not gonna know when the hair is gonna pop up are we? They offered a free meal but we refused as she was already extremely put off. Kept on pushing for atleast half a refund for her meal which would’ve been like £5 or something just for the sake of her not being able to even eat. But they refused. Anyway then the rest of our food came around half an hour later and all of it was cold. Me and a friend ordered the “famous” Philly cheesesteak and I can hands down say a sub is better. It’s meant to come with caramelised onions and jalapeños. But it came plain. When asked they said they’d run out of jalapeños and the caramelised onions were mixed in the steak and not visible. I’m a regular cook and I know there was not one onion there. So we basically paid for a bunch of shredded steak on bread with some nacho cheese. It wasn’t even American cheese. Costa nacho cheese. Our first choice was Bun Inc, as we went on Monday (28th October) it was closed so we settled for Phatboyz after seeing it on TikTok. I ordered a Phat Cane box and my wife ordered chicken Mac fries. The food came and I immediately noticed they had given me 3 strips instead of 4. On top of that they were not golden brown but yellow as if they had not been fried long enough. The chicken had a funny smell to it and I mentioned these issues to the female member of staff who apologised and said they had ran out of strips so they gave me 3. She said she would give me wings as a replacement. I was disappointed in the quality of the food, for such a nice looking place the food didn’t live up to the hype. The toast with my meal just tasted like fried bread and was oily. I returned home and the next day I had sharp stabbing pains in my stomach from the food. I am writing this review today as it has taken me this long to recover. My wife had the same pains, they were that bad we both went to the doctors and they told us we must have a really bad stomach bug from whatever we had eaten. Following this experience I will not ever be returning to Phatboyz as the staff were not very helpful when I raised these issues. My advice to the owner would be to employ staff members who can understand basic English and cook food to an edible standard. I am saddened to say that PhatBoyz has failed to live up to my expectations, and I am deeply disappointed with the decline in their service quality. As a loyal customer since their opening, I had always spoken highly of their business. However, the recent experiences I've had with their phone manners have been the worst I have ever encountered.
Customer service is a crucial aspect of any successful business, and unfortunately, PhatBoyz seems to have overlooked this fundamental principle. The phone manners displayed by their representatives were unprofessional, lacking empathy, and left me feeling unvalued as a customer.
As a result of these negative experiences, I regret to inform them that I will not be returning to PhatBoyz in the future. Additionally, I cannot, in good conscience, recommend their services to family, friends, or anyone seeking a reliable and customer-focused establishment.
It is disheartening to witness such a decline in service quality, especially considering the positive experiences I had initially. I hope that PhatBoyz takes this feedback constructively and makes the necessary improvements to ensure a positive and satisfactory customer experience for others in the future.
