Alborz is a wonderful hidden gem in Levenshulme that serves a variety of Persian and Middle-Eastern food, located on Stockport Rd you could be forgiven for thinking that Alborz is as unassuming as it's humble exterior suggests. However, what lies behind those modest doors is truly fantastic restaurant both in terms of food and service. The interior is understated and tasteful, furnished with Persian vases and ornate tea sets, the tables are close together to make the most of the limited space available but this lends a refreshing communal atmosphere to your meal. The staff were friendly and attentive and more than happy to talk you through the menu and explain the various dishes. We ordered the Mezze Platter to start, this consists of four different starters, and is ideal if you're not overly familiar with Persian cuisine, the homemade hummus was a particular highlight being both fresh and tasty. We then ordered the Alborz special grill for two, which looks as wonderful as it tastes, succulent skewers of koobideh and chicken accompanied by grilled vegetables, saffron rice and a freshly baked taltoon bread which was frankly quite ridiculous in its magnificence and is so large it came supplied with its own stand. This was a true delight to eat and I can highly recommend it. After all of that, we were overloaded with food and couldn't possibly consider having dessert and so, asked for the bill, which led to true surprise of the evening, all of this wonderfully authentic and fresh food came to a grand total of £42. This reflects tremendous value in a time where a meal for two can often prove quite expensive. Overall I would say that Alborz is definitely worth visiting if you're in the area and if you're not well then it's worth making the trip for. If you're a fan of Persian food or perhaps want to try something new then you would genuinely struggle to find such a quality dining experience at this price point.

**A Delightful Culinary Experience at Alborz in Manchester** During our recent three-night stay in Manchester, my family and I had the pleasure of dining at Alborz, an Iranian restaurant that truly exceeded our expectations. Traveling from Netherlands, we were eager to find a place that offered authentic Persian cuisine, and Alborz did not disappoint. The highlight of our evening was the Persian kebab and rice, which were nothing short of exquisite. The kebabs were perfectly seasoned and cooked to perfection, while the rice was fragrant and fluffy, capturing the essence of traditional Persian flavors. Each bite transported us to the heart of Iran, showcasing the culinary expertise of the chefs. The ambiance of Alborz is warm and inviting, making us feel right at home. The staff were friendly and attentive, ensuring that our dining experience was pleasant from start to finish. Additionally, we were pleasantly surprised by the reasonable prices, making it a fantastic value for the quality of food and service provided. If you’re in Manchester and looking to experience genuine Persian cuisine, Alborz is a must-visit. We left with full stomachs and happy hearts, already planning our next visit. Highly recommended!

Having tried all Persian restaurants in Manchester for a decent Chelo Kabab which is our national dish, I was so disappointed and embarrassed as an Iranian in the UK that our food was being represented so badly in all our Manchester restaurants UNTIL I TRIED ALBORZ's. Please do not waste your time and money anywhere else if you fancy having Chelo Kabab. These guys are better than all other Manchester Persian restaurants for chelo kabab. I didn't try their Ghormeh Sabzi but the smell was just right. I recommend to price up the food and to add some generous amount of decent Saffron (Saharkheez) which is our Persian signature. The biggest mistake all our restaurants are making is competing on prices! Please don't do what everyone else is doing. Low quality Iranian food is being sold cheaply in all our Manchester restaurants! Let cheap eaters gather in cheap restaurants. You don't need them. We want better Iranian food. Doesn't matter where your restaurant is based if you cook top quality tasty food at a higher price and deliver it! I will visit Alborz over and over again and if you do delivery service I will definitely call. ...
