A Mixed Experience at Blue Eyed Panda - Decent Food, but Some Room for Improvement
Review: ⭐️⭐️⭐️
My recent visit to Blue Eyed Panda left me with mixed feelings about the overall experience. While there were some positive aspects, there were also areas where improvement is needed. Here's my honest assessment:
Upon entering Blue Eyed Panda, I was greeted by a charming ambiance that showcased a blend of modern and traditional elements. The restaurant had a pleasant atmosphere, and the staff seemed friendly and attentive.
However, my dining experience encountered a hiccup when we received two servings of the same dish instead of the two different dishes we had ordered. This mix-up resulted in some confusion and disappointment. Although we were hungry and didn't want to make a fuss, the lack of attention to detail in the kitchen was evident.
Moving on to the food itself, while it was decent overall, it didn't leave a lasting impression. The flavors were satisfactory, but nothing stood out as exceptional or unique. The dishes lacked that extra touch that sets a dining experience apart from the rest. It felt like there was room for improvement in terms of creativity and presentation.
Furthermore, the service was average at best. While the staff was polite, there were instances where attentiveness seemed lacking. It took a while for our orders to be taken, and we had to request refills for our drinks multiple times. These small lapses in service detracted from the overall experience.
Blue Eyed Panda has potential, but there are areas that need attention in order to elevate the dining experience. Improving the attention to detail in the kitchen and refining the flavors to make them more memorable would greatly enhance the overall impression. Additionally, ensuring prompt and attentive service would contribute to a more satisfying visit.
In conclusion, Blue Eyed Panda offers a pleasant ambiance, but there were noticeable shortcomings in the dining experience. While the food was decent, it didn't surpass expectations, and the mix-up in our order was disappointing. With some adjustments and improvements, Blue Eyed Panda has the potential to become a standout dining destination.

Read moreThe wait staff were pleasant and attentive and were able to answer our questions about the menu without issue. We started with hot and spicy soup which was akin to what you'd get at any standard Chinese takeaway but was nice enough.
We then tried to order mains and the waiter had to come back to our table twice as the first two mains we ordered weren't available (This was half an hour after opening with about a third of the restaurant being full). We eventually settled on crispy beef with schezwan sauce. The waiter warned us that this would be spicy and we agreed this would be fine. We were presented with a meal that was bland and lacking any spice at all. I don't mean not spicy enough, I mean not spicy at all. Like corn flour had been added to water with half a teaspoon of MSG. We also ordered vegetable fried rice that was too oily and lacking salt.
We left most of the main and informed the waiter that the food was bland enough to warrant commenting on. He informed us that a previous customer had complained it was too salty and so the chef likely over-corrected; this would explain the lack of salt but not the complete absence of chilis. He recommended to ask for it to be more spicy next time and that he would inform the manager. He disappeared out the back, presumably to speak to the manager, but no manager was polite enough to come to the table to speak to us.
The bill came to around £50 - £60 including one beer and a pot of tea. We wouldn't...
Read moreThe madam had picked this place to eat once we landed in Manchester, couse it was close to our hotel (Ibis) and she wanted to eat some thing chineese. It was about a 5-10 min walk froum our hotel.
They had a great staff and really good food.
We ordered a few different dishes, bith the chicken and beef Chow Mein fried noodles, som crispy springrolls with pork and some Cha Siu bao.
The noodles were thin and really Nice to the bite. Had a bit of a chared taste which I really liked. The veggies were crunchy and the souce was tasty! I would prefer alittle less sauce personally, but it wasn't any problem since it tastes great :) generous portions.
The spring rolls were crispy and tastes good, came with a nice dipping sauce.
The dough for the Cha Siu Bao wasn't the best I've had, cant really out my finger on what it was, maybe they used some different flour than what I've had before. A tiny bit dry dough, But the filling was good :)
Last but not least, the "Hop 13 lager" I think it was called was a super tasty beer.
If we were staying alittle longer than just 3 days I would definitly be back and try some of the other items on the menu, seems like they had alot of different dishes I would be excited to try and Im sure they are just as good as the...
