I have been going to Cask in Ancoats since it opened in late 2018. I remember when it first opened it certainly wasn't as busy as it is now - most evenings it is packed now. The place specialises in offering a fair selection of imported European beers including Duval, Delerium, Krombacher and will usually have a Trappist beer on offer if you believe brewing Belgian monks do it better. A welcoming place away from chain pubs + beers and bars with colourful yet often underwhelming "craft beer". Service is usually very quick and staff are attentive to any queues forming behind the bar (which unfortunately is not always the case in bar/pubs) so you're not waiting too long and can also try some of the beers if you are undecided. The interior is simple, nothing extravagant but it works. There is a selection of board games and a dart board - although this is well used so not guaranteed to be available. I’ve been in this pub shouting playing board games for the last 4 years! I’ve been in this pub while football fans sing songs! But tonight while me and some family members most of them being Indian were playing board games were told to be quiet! Why? We played the exact game the week before! But what was difference? What has been the change? The big lad who thinks he’s post malone? Maybe a closet racist! Who knows but if you’re brown/black I would avoid being loud in this pub! Genuinely didn’t think this type of thing still existed...
Read moreAs perfect as ever. Always rely on Cask for a truly quality beer. A beer that has been brewed with passion, not profit. Cask serves some of the best beers of Europe in Manchester, and includes Krombacher, Paulaner, Hacker-Pschorr and more, as well as very high quality Martin Audio sound system. It doesn’t go unrecognised! Toilets are a good size and clean. The service is always very welcoming, as well as the bar location being in a perfect spot for sun lovers! I totally recommend Cask as a pub I’d drink at over at Tom’s Beer Bible on Instagram.
Also serves stout for darker...
