I can confidently say Dave’s Hot Chicken is one of the best fried chicken experiences I’ve had in recent memory. From the moment I stepped inside, I was impressed by the vibrant atmosphere, bold flavours, and genuinely great service. If you love fried chicken with a serious kick and a fun vibe, this place absolutely delivers.
Walking into Dave’s Hot Chicken feels like stepping into an exciting food playground. The neon signs, street art, and upbeat music set the perfect tone for a casual, lively meal. It’s clear this isn’t just about the food — it’s about the whole experience. The decor is modern and trendy, making it a great spot to hang out with friends or grab a quick, satisfying bite after a busy day.
The menu is refreshingly simple but incredibly well executed. The main stars are the chicken sliders and tenders, and the real highlight is the spice levels. From Plain to the infamous Reaper (which you actually sign a waiver for!), the spice journey is a thrill for anyone who loves heat. I started with the Medium spice level and was immediately hooked. The chicken was perfectly cooked — juicy and tender on the inside, with a crispy, crunchy coating that was bursting with flavour. The seasoning was balanced with a nice blend of heat and savory notes that made every bite addictive.
I then worked my way up to Hot and Extra Hot on subsequent visits, and each level delivered more punch without sacrificing the quality of the chicken itself. The Reaper challenge was a wild ride — the heat is intense and builds gradually, but what I really appreciated was how the flavour still shone through despite the fiery spice. It’s a fun challenge that adds an element of excitement to the meal.
The sliders come with soft brioche buns, fresh crunchy slaw, and tangy pickles, which complement the spicy chicken perfectly. The tenders are massive and satisfying, making them ideal if you’re really hungry or want to share. The fries deserve a special mention — they are perfectly crispy, seasoned just right, and a fantastic sidekick to the chicken. The cheesy fries are a must-try for anyone craving something extra indulgent.
Service at Dave’s is friendly and efficient. The staff are knowledgeable about the spice levels and happy to help if you’re unsure what to order. They make the whole ordering process smooth, even when it’s busy. I also noticed the team is quick to clear tables and keep the space tidy, which makes the whole experience more enjoyable.
The portions are generous, meaning you get good value for money, especially given the quality and size of the food.
What really sets Dave’s Hot Chicken apart is the combination of top-notch fried chicken, a fun and vibrant atmosphere, and a menu that caters to all spice preferences. Whether you’re a spice lover looking to test your limits or someone who prefers just a mild kick, Dave’s has something for you.
In summary, Dave’s Hot Chicken is a must-visit if you’re in the mood for juicy, flavourful fried chicken with a kick, served in a buzzing, friendly environment. It’s become one of my favourite spots, and I look forward to returning many more times to try every spice level and side on the menu. Highly...
Read moreDaughter turned 11years old today and we had decided that we will go for a Daves Hot Chicken. Navigated in from Bradford to Manchester very easy to find via the car navigation system. Although was city centre location there are many parking locations nearby and we found parking literally a couple minutes walk away.
We arrived and Daves was relatively busy and partially crowded it was around 6pmish. After waiting a couple of minutes we were called upto the counter to order by a lovely professional and courteous staff member called Mohammed.
Ordering was simple, easy and very straightforward the place although busy looked clean and very aesthetically pleasing with trendy street art on the walls. The place is over 3 floors the main floor where you order and collect and also the drinks refill station is located there. The second floor is overflow seating area and bathrooms located to the top/third floor.
Our order as attached was for a family of 5 and the bill came to £90.81 this was for 5 Daves #4 meals which consisted of single slider and fries we upgraded to cheese fries and cheese on the sliders also 2x Large Daves Sauces for Dipping and 1x cup of pickles. The drinks had an additional charge which are self serve and refillable just get a regular and top up as you need.
The food arrived around 10-14mins after the order it didn't feel like it was too long considering that they had plenty of orders pending and new orders.
The chicken was 10/10 crispy and delicious I had the extra hot which to be honest wasn't too hot for me as I eat spicy anyway I guess if you had the tender on its own it may feel hotter but in a slider it was fine.
My children and significant other thoroughly enjoyed their food too and there was no complaints. The pickles are much better than any canned versions they were very fresh.
Thanks to Mohammed and the team also as a side note the toilets were very clean too.
Definitely will be coming again and maybe might even try the reaper next time. Looking forward to it opening...
Read moreLooked forward to trying the new Manchester branch of Dave's Hot Chicken as we enjoyed the one in London.
There was a queue but it wasn't too bad as it was moving steadily.
Inside wasnt packed but there were lot of orders and people waiting. Had too wait a while but wasnt too bad.
They have self serve which saved time.
You get a reward stamp in the app for order over £8. So for a £23 order I was expecting atleast two stamps... but only got one stamp in the app... which means I also didn't get one for my order in London 😕.
Ordered two slider meals. I know these are almost double the price of other joints I visit but that's their price which people are aware of, so... and its something different.
The slider was just as good as last time. For me its a unique taste and flavour compared to other chicken burgers. The spices, pickles, added optional honey and the salad all make this a real tasty burger. The fillet was hot (temp), spiciness for a medium wasnt really there for me.. It was chunky and big and crunchy... so a good burger.
Chips were ok but cheesy chips were extra, with mac and cheese being an included side i was expecting cheesy chips to also be included in the price.
The second meal had mac n cheese. It was ok but def as not as good as the one in the London branch... it wasnt as creamy and flavour wise was more bland.
Ordered milkshake extra. They forgot to serve it. Then gave a cup which was just over half way filled so had to ask for a top up... You should get what you pay for..
Overall enjoyed it, nice environment / vibe, lots of...
