We recently visited Firehouse for a Sunday roast as a group of eight. The roast itself was enjoyable. Regrettably, the service we received did not match the quality of the food. The main issue was the delay in serving my meal, which left me watching everyone else eat while I waited for over 10 minutes. After I made our server aware, I was met with a patronising response that ‘food comes as and when ready,’ a justification that later turned out to be untrue, as they admitted it was a kitchen mistake. My food arrived a further 5 minutes later, just as everyone else was finishing. A simple ‘sorry’ for the genuine mistake would have been appreciated. Despite being told that the meal would be removed from our bill, this correction was never made. Furthermore, we had to prompt the staff for a drink and dessert that didn’t turn up, showcasing a lack of attentiveness that was hard to overlook. By the end of the night, I was fed up with complaining; it felt like I was nagging, so I paid the full bill. When paying around £50 per person for a meal, you expect a certain level of service. This wasn’t our first encounter with service delays here; a previous visit had also been compromised by slow service, though it was somewhat mitigated by the offer of free drinks after a 30-minute wait for a simple order. We won’t be returning...
Read moreGone down hill massively in my estimation. Used to be THE place to be for guaranteed fun and a safe recommendation to visitors. Went on a Saturday night, the “shows” were just two guys dancing for one minute! They used to have amazing shows before but now it was literally nothing, with 30min breaks in between which was so boring.
Drinks have shrank to a point of a joke. A single spirit & mixer is served literally in a glass smaller than a flat white.
And we were standing at the bar and we were still being charged a service charge without even knowing. We only realised when a friend ordered a £32 bottle of wine and they billed her £35. When she pointed out the mistake, the waitress pointed at the small print on the menu.
Spoke to a friend from Leeds about my experience and she recently visited as well based on good reviews but had the same boring and overpriced experience.
Please sort it out Capital & Centric. This venue used to be so cool and such a vibe but this and Ramona have gone down the hill, shrunk the drink sizes, slice sizes, so disappointing.
As if all the effort is going into Diecast which still isn’t as good as Firehouse and Ramona used to be when it first opened.
Sort it...
Read moreI’ve been wanting to try Firehouse for a while and I am glad I did! I really liked the chill atmosphere and high ceiling, very light and airy.
Friendly welcome from staff on arrival, we hadn’t booked but we were seated immediately and a server went through the menu with us a recommended drinks. I went for a Jalepeno Margarita I think and my friend had the cider. Both were delicious. Loved the marg so much.
We ordered the hummus and pitta bread, came pretty quick. Wow the pittas are amazing, so fluffy, soft and tasty! The hummus is as good, need a bit more seasoning though.
After that we ordered the fingerling potatoes, a leg of chicken and some dips. The chicken was beautiful, very well cooked tender and soft. My only issue was I only got half a thigh?! Still I would defo order again because it was so perfect. The potatoes were also delicious with plenty of Parmesan and a (truffle?) mayo. I really liked them.
We had a look at the dessert menu and I really wanted one as they sounded delicious. I was so full though! I’ll have to go back to try them.
It is quite an expensive venue but everything was on point, so...
