Giving this place 4 stars- the service was good, friendly and efficient which is always appreciated at a lunch spot. Not many places to sit but that’s ok- it’s not a super inviting area to begin with.

I ordered the Ruben on an onion bagel and had high hopes based on the reviews. I had visions of the Ruben sandwich’s I got at the Jewish deli in my neighborhood as a kid, dripping is 1000 island dressing with the beef the perfect shade of pink.

The sandwich I got today was not the Ruben I was dreaming of, it was a beef brisket and honey mustard served on something like a bagel. It was an ok sandwich, the beef was a little tough but I appreciate they packed it in- it’s huge! The sauce was too runny, I got more on my shirt than in my mouth. We’re going to ignore the pickle because that’s a cultural difference I will never understand.

While I applaud this small one off spot for trying something new & making a decent sandwich, do I think they’re the next big thing? Afraid not. Maybe visit an old Jewish deli, even better if it’s in the US and order a Ruben. You’ll see what I’m talking about.

In the area? Worth stopping in for a bite but don’t go out of your way. And to the chef/owner - maybe rename your Ruben to money mustard brisket sandwich- it’s...

Cute little place with big potential. I had the Salmon bagel which was delicious, one of the guys who work there asked us how everything was and if we had any feedback, which is always good to see in any establishment, definitely don't lose that spark, keep in touch with your customers and what they want!

I suggested in the Salmon and cream cheese bagel, get rid of the capers, they add a strange dimension, I think would be better complemented by some nice fresh dill.

We also had (sadly) the only vegan option on the menu, red pepper and humous, which was nice, but it would have been good to see more vegan options, there are some good vegan cream cheeses out there now, and some fantastic vegan meat substitutes, so the overall menu doesn't need to be rethought, rather adapted and keep your prefered flavours, just a quick suggestion, I know they mentioned they were planning a larger vegan selection in the future, so this could be a quick fix to add in vegan options to many of the items already available.

2 vegan milks available too for coffee, very happy we visited, if we're back in manchester in the future, we will definitely be going back to see what they have done...

Popped in en route to a gig to grab a bite to eat. No expectations as only happened to be passing by. The guys were getting ready to close up but we're happy to serve us. As it was late in the day there were only two options left for fillings so we had one of each. There were 4 options of bagel type though. The guys were friendly and chatty while we waited, which wasn't long. Got to say.... What a little gem of a place! The bagels were so tasty and fresh (told that they bake fresh every day), fillings were generous and packaged really nicely. Recommend the beef filling, I didn't have it but told by the person who did it was awesome, it looked and smelled great. Smoked salmon was tasty, on the poppy seed bagel it was even nicer. Fairly priced for fresh tasty food. Definitely recommend visiting here if you're in the area, you won't be...

I visited First Street Bagels for lunch after seeing some hype on TikTok, and I’m glad I did! It’s a nice little spot in a quiet location with stylish decor that really adds to the vibe. From the moment I walked in, I was greeted warmly. I ordered two chicken bagels and two drinks, which came to around £28—fair for the quality and experience. The food was out within 5 minutes, fresh and packed with falvour. I had a chat with the owner, who took my order—genuinely a great guy. He spoke well, had a clear passion for his business, and really understands customer service. You can tell this place is on the way up! If you’re looking for a solid bagel spot in Manchester, definitely check this place out. I’ll be back for sure!
