Fuku Food MCR in Freight Island — Restaurant in Manchester

Just had a really unenjoyable meal at fuku. Got a Korean fried chicken burger but it was just plain fried chicken, no sauce (at the most 2 droplets of sauce). Shame, this place had been on my list for a while but it's now firmly off it.

Update: according to the passive aggressive response from Fuku, their idea of Korean fried chicken is adding some mayo and gochujang. If you know anything about Korean fried chicken it'll be obvious this is just pretending to be it. haven't tried the rest of their food so it might be awesome, but I'd avoid the Korean fried chicken based on what I had. Communication is awesome, and that's what reviews are, I know it's disappointing getting a bad review but being condescending isn't the best way to demonstrate your attitude towards customers. My friend took me and our friendship group here while we came down to visit him in Manchester. Defo seemed like the most appetising spot in Hatch especially for Halal options and it proved right. Atmosphere is really good, defo an ideal spot for socialising. Food was 10/10. Ordered online through the QR code and the wait wasn't long at all. Had the Chicken Katsu Curry with fries for about £10.75, and honestly can't fault it. Once seated and I browsed the menu via the QR code, I decided to try FUKU for the first time. I’ve seen a lot of reviews on social media so I had high hopes. Once ordered and paid, my food was delivered within 15/20mins which was pretty good for a busy Sunday (Carnival Weekender).

I got the salt & pepper chicken with half rice & half chips which came with a choice of sauce. The portion size is shocking considering the price! Luckily I wasn’t that hungry but you’d definitely need to order something on the side if you haven’t eaten all day. The S&P chicken was nice, however it was nothing to rave home about and definitely think it’s been overhyped! I’d try them again but maybe try something else...
