I visited Five Guys with my wife who is a wheelchair user at around 8:30 on a Tuesday night. After ordering our meal we asked where the toilets were and were told that they do not have customer toilets on the premises and that we'd have to use the Arndale ones. As these were quite a distance away we decided to wait until after we'd eaten. We tried to use them at around 9:00 after eating, only to find the shutters down and none of the toilets, including the disabled toilets, were available. This meant we had to wander around Manchester with a wheelchair user at night looking for suitable toilets, having already eaten and not wanting a drink in a pub this left very few options available to us.
We couldn't even use the facilities at the other Five Guys on Piccadilly Gardens as the door staff wouldn't allow us in with our leftovers from their other restaurant (and I believe their toilets are downstairs anyway, so still unsuitable for a wheelchair user)
The food and staff were great, but if they don't have their own toilets (which other reviews suggest they actually do), then they need to put pressure on the Arndale to keep the main toilets open until the restaurants close. It is unacceptable to have no toilet...
Read moreBobbie was absolutely fantastic! I’ve never had to worry about allergies before. But unfortunately my kid has a couple allergies so we have to be extra careful when eating out.
From my experience, most places tend to just give you an allergen menu or list and leave you to decipher it yourself. Majority are straightforward but it’s quite time consuming and sometimes confusing, especially large menu’s!
Bobbie however was absolutely brilliant, she served us on the till and saw us scan the allergen menu. Asked what the allergens were and listed out everything we can/can’t have! Made it so easy for us and was very patient with us! She then went and made the allergen order herself, separate from the rest of the order to avoid any cross contamination! Cleaned the surface she was preparing the order on, changed gloves etc.
I know I’m describing the basic things needed to be done but having experienced my kid have allergic reactions due to lack of care in kitchens, we really really appreciated everything Bobbie did, and I can only assume the rest of the staff would have done the...
Read moreSo my first time visiting a Five Guys restaurant and I had always wanted to try the experience. The restaurant looked clean and busy, so a good start. Chose the Bacon Cheeseburger and it was good to be able to decide what I wanted on it without a staff member rolling their eyes - yes McDonald’s your staff do that. Had the Five Guys Fries and a Soda - with a constant refill 😁 The staff member who served me was friendly and very professional. But the price guys, £18.15 for burger, fries and a drink 😱 After a short wait my order was shouted out and I collected my bag of food. I have to say I was surprised by the amount of fries I had, absolutely loads of them, and they tasted lush. Is it bad to complain about having too many? The burger came wrapped in a foil and upon opening it I was impressed by the quality. It looked and smelt great, and the taste was amazing. Quality ingredients, juicy patties, fresh salad and cheese that didn’t stick everywhere. And after that meal I was absolutely stuffed. The only reason I’m giving it 4stars is the price, the food though was top rated...
