I'm not usually one to leave reviews but this experience left me really baffled today. I met up with a friend here today and we had a chat while also catching up on our respective coursework (we were talking the whole time) and were having our hot drinks and looking at the coffee blends.
Our drinks were great, and I was planning to start coming to it more often on my own just to get a takeaway cup, but as we were leaving, one of the baristas called us out in front of all the other customers saying that there was a no laptop policy.
It would've been great to know at the start, to avoid embarrassing us in front of everyone else! And also, we were talking the whole time and sitting as a pair. There was a man sitting next to us with a laptop and taking up the whole table for hours but he was never called out! Just a very strange experience. I've changed my mind about coming here... :( Initially really loved it because of the high quality coffee, now really anxious about it and dislike it because of the poor communication from the barista. For reference, the barista was male and I and my friend...

I’d never been to this cafe before, and I was so excited to have just arrived in Manchester, so when I arrived I asked the staff member at the counter with a smile on my face if the cafe was pay at the counter or table service. This apparently warranted her scoffing, rolling her eyes and snapping at me in an extremely aggressive tone. My Face ID was a little slow for opening my bank card to pay for my coffee cause my eyes were welled up with tears and she again aggressively snapped at me, this time hurrying me to pay (mind you there was no line of people behind me). Extremely disappointing behaviour from a store called ‘Just Between Friends’. My coffee was sour much like...
Read moreA gem off a coffee house. A wonderful little shop with great coffee, it's now my go to when travelling through town. Fast service with a smile from a bubbly barrista, strong coffee without any burnt or overly roasted flavours and the cherry brownies are to die for! Super dense, sticky and fudgy without being too sweet. Inside the shop was a great use of a small space, somehow kept a spacious feeling. Lots of coffees, teas and equipment to buy off the shelf too. Nice to know there's somewhere I can pick up authentic V60 filters in person or passing. It's probably worth mentioning that the coffees are the typical Northern Quarter size so don't expect a Starbucks style bucket, a case of quality...
