Disappointing and Unprofessional Service – Reservation Was Not Honored
I had an extremely frustrating experience when I booked their buffet for iftar. I made my reservation a day in advance, as Saturday was fully booked, and secured a table for Sunday. During the booking call, I clearly stated that we were two adults and a toddler under three, and I requested a quiet corner space, preferably with a couch, for comfort. The staff member assured me that they had a half-couch, half-chair setup, which I agreed to. To avoid any issues, I even called again on the day of the booking to confirm everything, and they reassured me that all was set. However, upon arriving early for iftar, we were shocked when they attempted to seat us at a small table meant for two—completely unsuitable for a family with a toddler. When we questioned this, they simply asked for the name of the person we had spoken to, which, of course, we hadn’t noted, as we never expected such an issue. Instead of taking responsibility for their mistake, they made us wait and ultimately told us they couldn’t do anything about it because they were “fully booked.” It felt as though they were treating us like walk-in customers rather than honouring a reservation made the day before. Their reasoning was absurd—while they insisted they couldn’t change someone else’s booking, they had no issue denying us the table we had specifically reserved. Even after speaking to what seemed to be the manager, the response remained the same. As a so-called solution, they offered to charge us for only one person, as if we had come looking for a discount instead of a proper dining experience. This entire situation was incredibly frustrating, especially happening right before iftar. The lack of professionalism, accountability, and basic customer service was unacceptable. What’s the point of making a reservation if the restaurant won’t honor it? We ultimately had no choice but to leave, as the seating arrangement was impossible. The staff showed no remorse, and the experience left a very negative impression. I would not recommend this place to anyone looking for a well-organized and respectful...
Read moreFirst time here and it was okay, very standard but expensive.
We got poppadoms and a chutney tray to start off with. The sauces on the chutney tray have been diluted with a lot of water so the taste of the sauces aren't the best which ruined it and having checked upon a past review I can say that it is 100% true.
Next dish was the lamb chops, they weren't presented very well compared to the social media post on Insta. Very little onions on the sizzler and when it was brought out you couldn't tell we ordered a sizzler as there was no sizzle sound. The chops itself tasted okay but I've had better and definitely doesn't justify the price.
The Sand Island mojito I was expecting tropical flavours as you would get in a passion fruit mojito but all you could really taste is mainly orange juice so wasn't very impressed.
Steaks were decent but personally would only go for steaks if you went to a Steakhouse.
Lamb karahi was actually good, they also made it spicy as requested and the garlic naan was really good. Both piping hot and fresh. I would definitely recommend that.
Desserts were really good and I'd say it was probably the highlight of our trip here. Sticky toffee pudding was very soft and gooey and the toffee sauce was perfect, served with ice cream. Brownie was also chocolaty and rich served with ice cream. Minor point I would make is the presentation seemed very basic and it didn't match the picture they displayed on their Instagram.
Atmosphere was very quiet for a Friday night. Felt like they were shutting that's how quiet it was.
Overall, worth a try but just a standard place and wouldn't comeback again. Menu is quite big so struggle to identify what their speciality is.
POSITIVES - ▪︎ Staff ▪︎ Quick Service ▪︎ Garlic Naan Bread ▪︎ Desserts
NEGATIVE - ▪︎ Expensive ▪︎ Food Quality Does Not Match The Price ▪︎ Chutney Tray -...
Read moreThe building itself is the first thing you see and it's hard to miss because of its sheer size. As soon as we entered we were welcomed in by the staff and they sat us down in a quieter portion of the restaurant, which is what we would have asked anyway, so this was a nice way to start the night.
We sat down and we're given the menus to immediately look through and choose our dishes. They have a nice selection of meals ranging from burgers to steaks and curries. The list isn't too big to the point where you're spoilt for choice. It's large enough to be extensive and not overwhelming. A perfectly balanced menu, if you will.
We ordered the mixed grill platter (serves 2 people), Aloo Tikkis and the 8oz Sirloin Steak. Everything on the platter was cooked to perfection. The meat was juicy and full of flavour. The Aloo Tillis had a nice crunch and the seasoning/masala combo used on the potatoe itself was delicious.
The 8oz steak was served with mash, but you do have the option of choosing fries or rice. Rice doesn't really work that well with steak and fries are more of a burger side, so we opted for mash. We went with a medium cooked steak as we like th steak to be decently soft with no sign of red. I know medium rare is the go to choice for a lot of people, for me, I just can't get over the slightly bloody taste. We chose the peppercorn sauce over the mushroom. It gave the steak dish that extra oomph and it went down well with myself and my wife.
For drinks, we opted for a Strawberry Daiquiri and a Cocolada (which is just a virgin Pina Colada). Both were delicious as expected. It's hard to get either wrong.
The price was very reasonable for a very filling meal and it's definitely a place we'll revisit in the future. Parking is free after 6pm, but please be aware that there is a parking meter that is active between 8am and 6pm...
