An great effort to introduce regional Indian dishes but lacks authentic flavour punch. Location: Easily accessible and close to the centre. Only drawback is it has no parking of it’s own but there’s a coop free parking just a minute away from the restaurant. Service: The staff was attentive and provided a good service. Welcoming and quick service. Rates: The prices are pretty much the standard rates but definitely not overpriced with each main within the range of £8 - £11. A large portion of starter, large portion of naan, 2 mains, portion of rice and papad costed us £50. The portion size is standard as well. Food: Sharing tandoori platter was the highlight. Enjoyed the sizzling veggies giving an authentic tandoor flavour. Vegetable jaipuri & punjabi kadhi were good but didn’t stand out. I do regret not trying the gujarati menu which seemed like their speciality but the mains were strictly average. Madras nimbu paani was the one I had closest to what is served in India. Drawback: I usually believe in tipping and rightly so one must but when I read the bill, a 10% service charge was added without consent and without the words optional against it. I do feel it’s a customers right to know it’s an optional charge and must be stated. Overall: A good restaurant with a different menu which does set it apart from other restaurants.

This place is without doubt, the best Indian restaurant I’ve ever been too! I am a vegetarian but my husband is not and even he loves it here! We’ve visited 3 times now and we live just over an hour away but it’s absolutely worth the drive. The restaurant itself is very pretty inside with lovely authentic ornaments and trinkets and the staff are always fast and efficient. I highly recommend the babycorn Manchurian for starter it’s so sticky and absolutely packed with flavour, yes it’s spicy and packs a punch but I could eat it all day long lol! For mains I had the paneer malai kofta, the star anise sauce they use for this dish is literally out of this world! It’s incredible and I find myself not wanting it to end! Sweet, creamy but with a nice little kick and tons of flavour. My husband has the paneer lababdar and this was also amazing with an incredibly flavourful sauce. The family sized naan bread was huge and very well made. The pilau rice was beautiful and very authentic, not packed with tacky yellow food colouring and it had a lovely texture to it. Even if you are not vegan or vegetarian, I highly recommend you try this place you will not be disappointed! My new favourite place to spend date-night lol.

The place is great for a change but not a place to visit every other time. I visited the restaurant during the late hours of the evening and I guess that is a perfect time as well because that is the time when you will have the opportunity to feel their adorable light decoration while having your food. The service wasn't that bad but felt forced (indirectly) while they asked many times about the drinks. I would recommend their Mango lassi and Baby Corn Manchurian. Also, please avoid Tandoori soya tikka and Bread Basket (mainly Thepla and Roti) as it's a waste of money. They served 'Thepla' which is a part of the breadbasket, without any pickle or chutney. Rather than having a Basket, it's better to order 2 naan bread separately. In conclusion, Sanskruti is a figure among cyphers. Being an 'Indian restaurant', they might not like the 'Indian customers' much but when you visited the place while having the expectations of authentic Indian taste, this place is a little bit overrated and therefore overpriced (£3 for a 200ml diet coke + additional 10% service charge on the top of everything 😂) as well. PS:- Ask your customers or let them be aware of the additional 10% charges otherwise they felt looted.

With someone who suffers with celiac disease I’ve always been reassured and taken care of without any reactions when visiting Sanskruti! I’ve always been welcomed kindly whether that be takeaway or dining in! This is what used to set sanskruti aside from everyone else.

Sadly on this occasion this is was not the case. I always add on my booking about being gluten and lactose free to give the restaurant a heads up before coming in. I arrived with my friends… I was asked if I had any allergen… I mentioned my celiac disease and the reply I received was almost like I was being told off. Sternly the waiter said “you cannot eat here, you have to go” it was said in such a manner I felt embarrassed as other tables heard and it made me feel rather embarrassed. He later on proceeded to say in a loud tone “you cannot eat here!” - I tried to ask the waiter “if this was the case then why i have been made to feel so welcome and taken care of on the plenty other occasions I have visited and why hasn’t anyone called me ahead to let me know”

At my own risk I decided to stay but nonetheless it set the tone for the rest of the evening and ruined the mood a little. Throughout the meal we weren’t asked if the food was ok and wasn’t checked in on at all. This is so far away from the service I’ve previously received in the past and honestly I don’t think I want to return.

I hate leaving bad reviews but it’s just a bit of advise for others visiting with allergens or food sensitivities because they do advertise allergens really well on the menu. At the end of the evening payment was taken by another member of staff which so happened to be the manager on shift. We were asked if everything was ok probably because we asked for service charge to be taken off the bill. We let the manager know of the situation to which he apologised.

Again it doesn’t make it easy for me to leave this review as I have only ever spoken highly of the restaurant in the past but maybe in future pay attention to notes left on bookings to let customers know in advance and for those who do suffer from illness or allergens I could only ask you treat this a little more sensitively than it was on my...

I am usually a huge fan of Sanskruti, and as a local vegan business owner I am constantly sending people down there, but I was left a little disappointed with my recent visit. The food was really good as I have always found to be the case, but unfortunately it was the service and knowledge of the staff which really let it down today. I have a tomato allergy, something which I know can be really difficult to accommodate, so I don’t mind at all if all I can have is bread. On a previous visit I was given a list of about 8 dishes I could order, plus some starters and sides, and felt really confident that they understood the menu and what I needed from them. On this occasion I asked a staff member who said he would go and check with the kitchen, then vanished for almost half an hour. In that time the rest of the table was asked to order, but I still had to wait. I had to explain twice to the staff member who took the table’s order that I was waiting to find out what I could have as he kept trying to take my menu. When the staff member did come back it seemed to me that he hadn’t actually spoken to anyone, and I ended up just ordering the dosa. When they brought mine out they made a point to say it had no tomato, which would have been a nice touch if someone hadn’t come over 5 minutes later to inform me that one of the sauces actually was tomatoey. Thankfully I hadn’t started eating yet as no one else had been served, but it was really disappointing that they got that so wrong. We also had to ask for tap water several times before it was brought over, weren’t offered any more drinks until the end of the meal, and at the end we were just brought the bill without even being offered a chance to look at the dessert menu. I really hope that next time I go I’m able to bump this score up as my previous experiences have...
