This is the only halal monitoring committee (HMC) steak house in the curry miles, if you don't know what that is, it basically means the meat they serve in this place has not been electrically stunned before slaughter process, this means it's true halal, the rest use electric shock (which often kills the animals) and then they slaughter it later on, making it questionable is it halal or not, cause once an animal is dead already you can't slaughter it and say it's halal. I only came here as it's certified HMC,
I had the 48 day dry aged porthouse 700gram steak as that's there speciality and wow it was awesome steak. They know what they are doing, I had the testing platter that was also good, tried the lamb chop starter it was well marinated well balanced, the Mrs tried the full chicken, again well balanced and marinated and no dry chicken breast, then we had the talapia fish and it was well marinated and cooked good. So from cooking steaks and meats yes they are good and I will happily pay the high price for it.
Constructive criticism would be to increase there drinks menu, also increas the different types of sauces to go with the steak or have the option to customise sauce, I wanted lemon yoghurt sauce to go with my steak and they said they don't do this,
I also would recommend they celebrate there meat and educate customers about the way they source and the quality of there meat so that customers knows what they are buying, as well as tell the what HMC slaughter is and why it makes such a great taste, etc
Decor wise it's a bit dated let's say it's not instagramable, the service was prompt and polite, hence I left a £10 tip on top of the service charge,
Overall yes the food is pricey, but it's sooo worth it, would I recommend this place yes I would, would I go there again yes deffo I would, would I pay the £40 for a steak yes I would too. The best thing is these guys are genuine Muslim business who wants to sell proper true halal meat and no compromise when it comes to faith and quality. It's a shame in the entire curry mile road only two places are hmc certified and rest are not and fake halal meat. I will defo support this business and I hope they remain in...
Read moreWhat I went for: Spicy Lamb Chops 😍 48-Day Dry-Aged Rib Eye which comes with a side! 🥩 Mango/Strawberry Solero Mocktail 🍹
Firstly, digging into the Spicy Lamb Chops, the size of these were HUGE. Compared to your normal chops, they’re a higher quality chop. It was tantalising, flavourful, juicy and tender. Just imagine the perfect lamb chop, this WAS it! If you’re ever unsure what starters to go with, I’ve made the choice for you, go with the CHOPS! 😍🤤
Ohh the mains, what we’ve been waiting for. As @fabriziorom says, HERE WE GO!
So I went for the 48 day dry aged Rib Eye steak, I asked for medium, always medium, please never ask for Well Done, because if you do, well done on ruining your steak 😭
When the steak came out, it looked amazing, the presentation, colour, the smell of the garlic butter was just 🤤 I have got to say Toro’s got this steak bang on!! Perfectly cooked medium steak just how I love it. It comes with a portion of fries (my choice of side), salad and vine tomatoes, accompanied with a choice of sauce, I went for Mushroom sauce.
This is no exaggeration, the steak was one of THE best steaks I’ve ever had. The steak is most certainly the option to go for (in my opinion) over a sizzler version. It came out perfectly cooked, how I like it. The mushroom sauce is an elite combo with a steak like this that just melts in your mouth 😍
I’m not usually a mocktail person, but I did really want to try something they make in house as opposed to your usual drinks. I went for the Mango/Strawberry Mocktail - THIS IS THE ONE. Add it to your order now 😍
Just want to say on top of the amazing food, the staff were very friendly and had exceptional service, once again, thank you for the invite @toros_manchester - see...
Read moreGood but some things to consider.
I've not heared of a place with so much mixed feelings you either like it or don't.
Location: This is located on the famous curry mile in manchester. Parking can be very tricky but can manage to find a place with people comming and going.
Food and Price: I went here after many recommendations from friends and family and I have to say is wasn't too bad...but it wasn't the best steak I've had.
The steaks are cooked to your desire rare medium well done etc... but I think it lacked some strong flavour... and I think allot of the flavours comes from allot of the extra that comes with the food...but again I think this would come from your own preference... Alcohol is not served here so if your looking for a place that doesn't then it's a good place to be considering allot of places on the curry mile do.
Staff/decor/price. The staff are accommodating and professionally dressed with good table service. The restaurant does however lack space... tables are close to each other and when walking past your close to others. You do tend to find allot of couples and I don't think you would find big families dining here due to its price.
Price of food is definitely not cheap. I believe you cant put a price on good food but i think based on the food compared to price it isn't value for money. With allot of steak places around mancheater I think it's difficult for me to pay the price to dine here...
If the price drops then i would consider another visit. it's a alternative to the currys you expect from this location but still a nice place...
