Terrible service from Walkabout. Came here for the football, ordered three small plates. These took 40 minutes to come and when they did come they brought out pork sausages when we had ordered the Quorn vegetarian one. It wasn’t until my Muslim friend had eaten one of the pork sausage bites that we realised we had been served the wrong food. Mistakes happen and on a busy match day the wrong food was brought to us but what was unacceptable was the staff refusing to refund me for the dish as they said it had been touched. It was only ‘touched’ in the first place as one sausage bite out of the whole plate had been eaten by mistake. If they had just refunded the amount for that one dish I wouldn’t have took the time to write this review but as the staff refused to amend THEIR error I felt the need to. Would not revisit Walkabout in Manchester again.

I was really looking forward to visiting the walkabout, but when we came here today (to watch six nations) we left after having one drink. They were serving drinks in plastic cups, even though it was only 3pm. The Guinness was absolutely disgusting (it had so many bubbles at the top). When I asked the bartender if I could please have another drink instead, she said I’d have to buy another one. We went to O’Neills which was right next door to the walkabout, and the Guinness there was much better and drinks were cheaper as well. It’s probably why O’Neills was a lot busier than the walkabout. See the 2x pictures attached and guess which Guinness was from The Walkabout and which one was from O’Neills.

I recently visited this walkabout and had a terrible experience from start to finish, no welcome, staff with no idea where or how we order food. Chairs higher than the tables the list goes on. I wrote to them in my feedback survey and this is the reply. Walkabout Manchester Printworks New Survey Reply Hello, we pride ourselves on providing exceptional service, so we are disappointed to hear that your visit with us was anything less than satisfactory. With sport and an arena event on at the same time, it was incredibly busy. We’re glad you had an excellent experience at a restaurant. Enjoy in future. Absolutely not interested in my feedback!

Almost empty restaraunt and were immediately told the combo meals were all out of stock. I ordered Frank Red hot wings and cheesy bacon fries. The cheese was sour tasting and the bacon tasted old. The wings were soo dry and old preheated with the tiniest of hot sauce splashed on top. I tried eating a couple of the more moist ones but gave up. They were visible dry but as I was hungry I tried to eat them. We called the manager over (Tony) who immediately had a defensive attitude and cut me off mid sentence arrogantly asking did I want a replacement. As it was clear these wings were days old I refused and went on to try to continue my sentence and he cuts me off for a second time asking me what I would like him to do in the most arrogant way. I should not have to tell you Tony how to do your job or make decisions for you. But if you'd like me to tell you what you should do... You should firstly have a better attitude towards your customers and be more apologetic. You should then talk to your kitchen staff about reheating old wings and throwing them in a tin and serving them as fresh. As a cook myself I know those wings were atleast 3 days old and refrigerated. I wish I had taken a photo. I will not be returning to your restaurant not because of the old chicken wings but because of Tony's arrogant and borderline threatening...

came on the 5th August (Wednesday) for an impromptu drink and bite to eat with my parter and son who all live in the same house. We had the walkabouts burger and drink deal for all 3 of us. Which came really quickly and was delicious. The waitress discounted our order in line with the governments 50%off scheme. We were all really impressed. Shoot forward less than a week to the 10th August (a monday). Where just me and my son ordered the same deal. This time no discount was added and dispite there only being 2 of us the bill came to more than it did when there was 3 people with alcholic drinks. I questioned this with staff to be told that the deals arent included in the 50%off and was refused a refund. Our food came and it was not good. The burger was sloppy and not good at all. Our visit was disappointing.

Its a shame they are inconsistent. Because i would have happily become a regular customer even after August when the government...

I Emailed in advance earlier in the week, asking if the Manchester Derby was on the TV in their venue, as I wanted to watch the game (as a neutral) with a couple of friends in their 60's who were Utd & City fans. They advised by email that the game was on and to book a table. Booked a table online - had to pay non-refundable £40, which is used as a bar tab.

Found out on arrival by friendly (??) bouncers that it's a Utd-only pub with no city fans allowed. Unfortunately, this was not mentioned when I emailed in advance or on the online booking system, which takes a non-refundable payment. Luckily, I messaged my friends who hadn't yet arrived and told them to tell a white lie to the bouncers!

The reserved table wasn't actually reserved. Instead, I was told to choose any available table. The game was then shown on a dodgy, buffering HD-IP channel??

So all in all a fairly poor afternoon out, and I wouldn't be rushing back to...
