10% service charge for absolutely dreadful service!!!!! We had breakfast there. Hot drinks took forever to come. When they did, coffee was burnt and tasted sour. The people on the next table received their food prior to their warm drinks and when asking a waiter if their drinks were on their way the response was “we only have one guy doing coffees for everybody here so it will be a wait”. Unprofessional response & considering the coffee machine was visible to customers it didn’t seem to be in very much use so not sure where this “one guy” was most of the time? Staff standing behind the bar chatting and neglecting tables, avoiding taking orders, turning people away instead of just turning tables and working quickly. Staff team all poorly presented, moving so slowly and unproductively it almost looked like they were still going from being out drinking the night before. It felt like staff didn’t feel breakfast service was necessary for money making and that the bar makes the most income of a night time, so therefore breakfast service was half-hearted. If staff feel this way then it may be wise to make a decision about the necessity of trying to accommodate breakfast in a pub environment. When visiting the bathroom facilities it seemed obvious that the venue is mostly established for raves and messy nights which felt confusing. Maybe a need to focus on a specific business model or perhaps some more attention on the breakfast/daytime element of the business. Food was okay but nothing amazing. All “toast” hadn’t been toasted so was just bread underneath the rubbery eggs & lukewarm baked beans. All in all the food wasn’t nearly enough to compensate for the awful service. Asked for the bill… took 20 minutes to receive it and once paid there was no “Thank you for coming guys, have a great day! See you next time”, the waitress simply just walked away with the card machine like she couldn’t care less now because they got the money. Will not be back during the...

Me and my girlfriend went here on a weekday, mid-day. It was practically empty with roughly only 8 tables being occupied when we entered. Waited by the door to be seated. Took so long a queue formed behind us and began to overflow out the door. The entire time the staff did not acknowledge our existence. Me and the strangers in the queue started questioning if we were meant to sit down ourselves or scan a QR code? There was no communication from the staff whatsoever. After some time a member of staff finally came to seat us but acted smug as if we had annoyed them for coming I guess. They also advised the kitchen was backed up so they wouldn’t be taking orders for another 10 minutes. You might want to rehire your kitchen staff, there is no good reason a kitchen team should be backed up with the amount of customers that were currently in the venue. It is not an exaggeration, there were no more than 8 customers in there. When we got to the table, the table was not cleaned properly and still felt sticky and so did the menu itself. We waited another 30 mins for our order to be taken but no one came. However we watched the staff take orders from everyone who came after us. We waited another 15 minutes while watching the staff take orders from others again… do your staff not take orders specifically from interracial couples/people of colour? We seem to have noticed a pattern on who’s orders you were taking and who you weren’t. Might not be intentional, could be doing it subconsciously? Idk what to advise for that, maybe listen to some Kendrick Lamar or read some history books and review your morals or something? Anyway we left the venue without our orders ever being taken. Batman couldn’t beat me into coming back here. Would give 0 stars...

Today (29th may) my partner and i went into wilson social for brunch as it didnt look busy and everywhere else in NQ was busy... now we know why it wasnt busy... The place smelt like someone has dropped a few pints of beer and dodnt clean it. Smelt like a dirty nightclub... red flag number 1.

I asked if they could make me a sausage sandwitch with a hashbrown on the side (it wasnt offered on the menu)

The server said they could do this and asked if i wanted it toasted or not. I said no thank you to toasting.

When the food came i was presented with 1 sausage, 1 slice of toasted bread and a burnt hasbrown. The definition of sandwitch has TWO slices of bread, so im not sure if this was a joke or not. No staff came to touch tables and ask of everything was okay. They were too busy chatting at the bar. When the staff member evebtually came to the table to clear plates, i asked if my food could be taken off the bill because it wasnt what i asked for. The server was rude and didnt even apologise. She even laughed her way back to the kicthen with the plates, which was so unprofessional. When she came back with the bill, she chucked it on the table and said "there u go guys" My partner had to go up to the bar to pay rather than them bringing the card machiene over to us. At least the guy behind the bar apologised to my partner. No one apologised to me for the shoddy brunch they served me. I cannot believe how rude the girl was who served us. She was wearing pink/purple wide leg jeans and had some blue eyeliner on. Shoulder length brown hair with a blonde streak... management should probably have a word with her, you cant work with the public and be that rude and not empathetic.

Its ruined...

Been here twice for breakfast. First time it took an age to get served. We were then forgotten about and had to remind the staff about what we ordered and where we were sat. Second time I was seated and served quickly as the place was much quieter. Food was average, the beans were cool, like they'd been left out and some of the bacon was soft and floppy, like it had been in the washing machine. The staff seem to forget you exist once you've been served and are happy to stand at the bar and chat or look at their phones. My favourite part was when one of the staff stood at the bar having a drink whilst chewing gum. Not noticing that I was waiting for someone to speak to. A couple next to me ended up leaving because no one bothered to serve them. And another couple sat looking annoyed as they had clearly become fed up with the wait. A man with an earpiece, who I can only assume was the manager, appeared more interested in telling people that they weren't letting anyone else in, kind of like a bouncer, rather than checking on existent tables. If he'd come and seen if I was ready to pay, those people would have had a place to sit. There's never an apology, a sorry for your wait. Not even a "how was your food". Just silence. If I was the owner I'd be giving a serious think to whether I want my business being run like that. All in all I won't be returning and I'll be making sure everyone I know doesn't go either.

My visit was around 10 am on a Saturday. A real shame for my visit. I felt for the staff. Clearly they were under staffed. They had to turn people away. Coffee drinks were small, no large cups/glass offerings. By time our food arrived, we wanted another drink but they had such a backlog we had finished our meal and waited 15 mins, then when we asked about the drinks we were told there were 6 orders ahead of us. My wife had the sweet potato fritters and she said it was very salty, too salty. I had the English breakfast. It was ok but that was about it. A bit too greecy and the sourdough bread crust was way too hard to eat. I heard the waitress on a number of occasions mention they had ran out of different ingredients. The waitress was friendly enough and the staff were obviously working hard to turn tables. They really shoukd have more staff. I wouldn't return again, given the overall experience but they have real potential to improve. Overall its not that bad, just disapoing more than anything. One final thought, the toilets were really dirty and had no soap in the soap machine.

The building has a lovely atmosphere and the staff were welcoming and polite throughout mine and my friend's visit. The food is pricey, with our total bill for 2 meals, 2 desserts, and 2 drinks coming to just over £80 (inc. service fee) but the price is reflected in the quality. The mains were ordered were the salmon feta bagel, and the steak frittes, and for dessert we got both a slice of the honey cake and cheesecake. All the food was wonderful, and the crisp apple draught cider was genuinely the nicest cider I've ever had, and cider is my go-to for a drink with a meal. Wonderful experience overall. My only complaint would be having the 12.5% tip being put on the bill by default, as tips shouldn't be an expectation but rather a courtesy to show valued service. I intended on tipping but having it as a default isn't a practice I like, especially when anxious people won't be willing to confront or question it. Would definitely come again
