Chand Indian Cuisine — Restaurant in Mansfield

I tell it like it is... Madras was the worst I have experienced. The chicken was good but the sauce was empty of real flavour, runny in consistency with hardly an ingredient to visibly see and when spooned onto my plate it separated with water coming from the main sauce. The chicken korma was also lacking in depth of flavour so much so that it was just boring. We also had a lamb saag which must have been prepared by someone else as there was flavour and the meat was soft and delicious, actually decent along with the naan bread which has to be fresh to be good which rescued my 2nd star tbh.

Disappointed with the time it took to prep after being told 'they are bagging it up' and I was still sat there 20 mins later.. I'm of the impression the guy the came in and walked out quite quickly with his meal had taken my meal and my dishes were rushed and ruined! Honesty would have saved it if that was true. I'm quite understanding and amenable to things like that.

Sadly New Chand won't see me for a good time. 😕 Too many other Indians to try...

We had a fantastic meal at this excellent Indian restaurant. From the moment we walked in, the atmosphere felt warm and welcoming. The manager personally greeted every customer he knew, creating a sense of familiarity and care that's rare to find.

The service throughout was attentive and friendly. We started with the poppadom pickle tray, which was easily one of the best we've ever had. The standout was the Pickled Onion Sauce — unique, flavorful, and a must-try.

For mains, we went with the Tandoori Chicken and the Dhal Samba side dish. The dhal was a well-balanced mix of vegetables with just the right amount of spice — an excellent choice.

We highly recommend this place to anyone looking for authentic, flavorful Indian food paired with genuine hospitality.

Visited here last night after booking online and what a surprise we all had (party of 4) Welcoming, was warm and pleasent service was one of best experiences we have had. Drinks were served promptly. We were given ample time to study the menu and once we were ready to order our meals again served promptly by friendly staff. Our starter courses all arrived quickly and together so we could all start eating together as was our main courses. Everything cooked to perfection presented beautifully and tasted even better. Overall the whole experience was like the food and drinks. TOTALLY EXCEPTIONAL. Our only regret is we live too far away to make it our regular.
