High Line New York Bar & Lounge, Genting Hotel — Restaurant in Metropolitan Borough of Solihull

Door staff have a really bad attitude. We were staying as guests at the Genting Hotel and our friends were already in the bar with a table waiting for us. We went to the bar to be greeted by the a member of the door staff shaking his head at us telling us we can’t get in. No explanation, just we weren’t allowed. My wife was in a dress and heels, I was wearing a suit and shoes so dress code wasn’t an issue. I explained that we were guests at the hotel and our friends were waiting for us. It wasn’t full and even if they had a guest limit people were leaving the bar as I was stood their. I tried calling my friends but they weren’t picking up. I spotted them sat at their table and asked the door staff politely and I quote “would you mind letting them know I’m here as they are expecting me” His response “are you going to say please” Another petty doorman on a power trip. I can say I have never stayed at a hotel and as a guest been denied access to a bar in the resort I’m staying, this doorman has a terrible attitude and should not be working at this resort. Because of him my money stayed firmly in my pocket for the remainder of my stay as I refuse to put any more money into the resort. Will not be staying here or...

The venue was really nice, well decorated and pleasant environment. We were disappointed by the lack of service from the waiter. We had the incorrect starters, incorrect drinks. We had to wait for a while for our drinks and had to ask several times. The main menu did not have a wide selection of main meals. Starters were good but the main was not so great. I ordered the steak, no steak knife provided no selection of sauces with steak.

Overall, I enjoyed the starters and cocktails were great with a great atmosphere. However the service was poor and the delay in receiving our drinks and errors caused with our food ruined our evening, especially as we were there for a birthday...

We were told about this place as all the other restaurants were booked and we couldn't wait. Found it on the third floor the waitress was really helpful, all the tables were booked but she said she could accommodate us as needed to be quick. It's a tapas bar with really good offers, you could choose 6 dishes plus to side for a special price. There were 3 of us so we picked a couple of extra dishes and WOW everything was so tasty and came out super quick! We stayed a bit longer than expected as we enjoying the lovely atmosphere.
