The first thing that counts is the welcome, that's a basic! We arrived and sat down in the waiting area, no greet or even an acknowledgement, very poor and makes you feel unwelcome. We eventually got seated and and waited for the rest of the group to arrive. No one came over for over 30 mins to take a drink order. Food was ordered and one table in our party waited ages for the food nearly 1.5 hours, We had to wait an additional 40 mins for our food to arrive but only after asking for it. Not managed well at all. Also where we where sat, was very cold. The curry was nice, if a little on the small portion size but the nan was cold and in all honesty it wasn't freshly made 'just like a microwave nan' not impressed for the money at all. The waiters we had were not personable and we're very cold and not friendly. Customer service is key and they couldn't careless in here unfortunately. Over priced for the experience and used to be good 10 years ago but now is well below par. Plenty of other quality curry houses to choose from. Keep up the poor work and watch your customers go elsewhere. Don't recommend...
Read moreI went for a curry with 2 friends and ordered 2 mains and 3 sides with 2 breads and a rice. I think they were instantly annoyed with us for not ordering 3 mains even though our order value was more. Some of the food was nice but the spinach balti had very little spinach in it. The main disappointment was the service, in my 34 years of eating out, at all soughts of restaurants I have never experienced anything like it. The waiter took our plates before we had fineshed eating. when we politely asked for them back he was extremely aggressive. We then carried on eating and once we were fineshed we asked for the leftovers To take away. At this point the waiter put a full naan bread that we wanted to take away on the plates that we had been eating off. I pointed out that we did want to keep the food again because he was mixing it together as if he was going to scrape it in the bin. At this point he very passively aggressively shouted “yes I heard you the first time calm down” he was very intimidating, and I honestly thought he was going to get violent. I will never go back to this...
Read moreI normally play it safe and go for a bag of chips, simple, tasty and you can't go wrong. Since the Lyndon chippy is cash only we decided on this restaurant. Having various bad experiences from curry places I was hesitant to go in and wanted my tasty scallop and small chips from Lyndon chippy, which btw the fella there make the best chips in the area....period.... but eventually we edged closer to the window and found the courage to go in. The curry was actually very very very nice. Piping hot, tasted great and a very nice thick sauce with the right amount of oil to go with the spices and tender meat. It was truly wonderful, naan was nice, big and thin, not thick or doughy and service was spot on. The dessert was alright but you can't expect much from a set menu but was a nice finisher. Thank you for a nice experience. It restored my faith that there is a nice curry restaurant out there somewhere that knows their spice rack very well...
