UNRELIABLE COMPANY WHICH CANCELLED OUR PAID BOOKING LESS THAN 24 HOURS BEFORE WEDDING PARTY

The one star awarded was forced by Google's system, this company deserves zero stars!

My partner and I would strongly recommend you do not use or rely on the services of this company for the reasons explained below:

We booked with Romanelli to provide a second meal at our wedding party in August 2021, for which Romanelli’s confirmed they would serve freshly made pizzas on site from their mobile kitchen.

We paid the requested deposit and Filippo of Romanelli’s confirmed by email the following:

“Hi Stephanie, i hope you

re well too? Yes I

Having taken our deposit and confirmed the booking, we continued with the rest of our planning for our party.

Filippo did not bother contacting us again, so my partner called him the day before the party to ask what time he would be arriving on site.

At that point Filippo said he would not be able to make the booking after all and tried to blame my partner Stephanie for not confirming the booking, despite the fact she had confirmed the booking in an earlier email which he had acknowledged.

When I later called Filippo back he admitted that the wording of his email (quoted above) did mean that he was to call us in advance of the booking and that he failed to do so.

In summary then:

• Romanelli’s confirmed they would provide a service for our wedding party and then failed to turn up;

• This caused a significant hassle for us on the day, ruining the first hour or so of the party whilst we tried to arrange alternatives;

• To compound the issue, Filippo of Romanelli’s tried to put the blame on to my partner, before finally admitting to me later that he was in the wrong.

The only redeeming point I can mention is that after later admitting that he was in the wrong, Filippo did refund our deposit swiftly – which is the absolute least I would expect.

Notwithstanding the refund of the deposit, I would strongly advise against trusting the competency or reliability of Romanelli’s for any service you are considering...

Do not order here!

I was left feeling angry and hungry, after ordering from here, and having a long argument with the manager over the phone.

I received the wrong order, and the manager basically just blamed the computer system for the mistake and refused to correct the mistake in any way.

I asked if he would replace the pizza, as it was not the one that I ordered, but he just flat out refused. I then asked for a refund but he refused that too. I asked why he was refusing to help resolve the issue, and he just blames his computer and metaphorically shrugs his shoulders.

I’m sorry, but if his computer is the issue, then that is his own fault. Not mine. And he should have replaced the pizza. Instead, he decided to argue with me over the phone and make out like it’s somehow my fault that his computer system is flawed.

Abysmal service and even worse customer service.

4 stars only because the delivery was very late and I had to call to chase. You do need to understand though that ordering from a smaller business at a peak time will usually result in a longer wait anyway. Staff were very polite, apologetic and friendly when I called them, and when the order arrived there was even something extra in the order which we interpreted as a gesture of goodwill, thanks! We have ordered from Romanelli’s many times and have always been thoroughly impressed with the food. It’s always arrived hot, been presented well and has been full of flavour. The food isn’t overpriced at all, you’re paying for really good quality and fresh food - this isn’t just your local kebab shop pizza.
