I decided to grab a cup of coffee on a Sunday afternoon, and waited around 10 minutes for a cup. Luckily, the quality of the coffee was exceptional and the table server was polite and apologetic. I paid £3.20 for a latte, served in a tall glass. Never have I seen a latte served where the foam not only is light and frothy, but persists after a good 10 minutes. I did not watch the barista steam the milk myself as this cafe offers table service, but I can tell that the metal jug was handled correctly while the milk was heated. I wish I had seen the process though, as I believe the espresso may have been poured through the milk foam, creating a brown shape atop the milk. Where I first thought this may have been latte art or a dusting, this instead was a very bitter section of the coffee. I'm not sure if I liked it this way, but it is unique for sure. The beans themselves were fresh with a brisk flavour, with a bitterness that one might not expect in most high-street coffee shops. I love all coffee from light to dark, so having something with a light tang to it was very pleasing. It is clear that Delight Café Bar have pride in their art, since the sugar packets that they use are Hausbrandt, a well-respected Italian brand known for their coffee. It's the small details such as these that elevate a café's status. There was no sweet biscuit to compliment the coffee, but I don't think it needed one, since the quality of the coffee was so high. I would happily pay an extra 30p for a small Biscoff, if the offer were there. There aren't many high-street coffee shops in Newcastle anymore, and small places such as Delight Café Bar should be protected, so that the passion of good drinks can live on. My only gripe was the wait before I was served, but this, if anything, is a testament to how popular the small shop is, rather than against their service.

I've had a hot drink here before but not food so today I decided to try it and it was absolutely delicious. Omelette with salmon and salad; the most satisfying meal I've had in a long time. I was full when I'd finished which is quite an achievement! The hazelnut latte and lemonade were 5/5 too. The staff were lovely. Will definitely dine here again.

A lovely cafe latte in the afternoon, which is just what the doctor ordered. Oh, and I managed to do a bit of work too. The cafe was quiet but it was a Wednesday afternoon. The latte I had was very enjoyable, and the member of staff serving was very pleasant. Very clean and tidy inside, well worth a visit. Dog friendly, and fast wifi.

Absolutely shocking service In here! Walked in with my nephew 11:55, there was only two tables that waited on some drinks. I went to the counter to order and the lady said she will come to me 12:20 she walked past few times completely ignored me and just focused on one table that kept asking her for more drinks. We had no breakfast so we hungry wanting food, we were going to be late to a party. Half an hour later I have lost my patience. Walked out. NEXT TIME IF YOU SAY YOU WILL COME UP TO SERVE YOUR CLIENTS DO THAT NOT IGNORE PEOPLE. You have lost my business now and we went to capello...

This is the best top-rated place for me! Never expected a cafe like this in Newcastle! Serve best Turkish and continental breakfasts with unique bright and savoury Eastern European/Balkan ingredients taste, as well as fantastic bread! As for someone originating from a Slavic country, this cafe feels like home, I have never seen anything better in the area. I love the terrace and the atmosphere there, prices are very affordable for food experience like this one. It's just a hidden gem for me. The owner is very polite and friendly - this adds to...
