Eggettes — Restaurant in Newcastle-under-Lyme

Visited at about 530ish this evening. Ordered a bubble tea and a bubble waffle to take out. Whilst i was there, i noticed there were 3, what seemed like children, working behind the till.

Ordered my bubble tea, then enquired about the waffle cone as I've never tried one before and thought it would nice to try one - I started enquiring about it and then decided to order to which the lad seemed hesitant? To let me order it. Nevertheless, he put it through.

They were laughing and joking and didn't really seem bothered about being professional around customers. One of the workers apparently was 'hiding' - I think they were messing around, but when you have customers to serve, I think a certain level of professionalism must be displayed.

Had to wait about 10 mins for it all, which isn't an issue. However, throughout my wait, I had to listen to the 3 of them laughing and joking around quite loudly.

The waffle - I have attached pictures. Was served to me in a brown bag. When I was given it, I asked, does this not come in a cup? And I pointed to the poster behind the till to which the guy serving me said, yes but the girl decided to put it in a bag. At this point, I was so annoyed that I just left the shop. Half the Nutella was all over the bag? I couldn't eat it and had to wait until I got home.

Tried the tea when I got home too, it was so bitter I couldn't drink It and by this time it was 6pm so I couldn't go back as the shop was closed and quite frankly I didn't feel like it either.

I ate the waffle but had to bin the tea. Bitter is really an understatement as to how bad it was.

I'm not impressed at all. I've had bubble tea from here in the past, and it was really nice I had no complaints. Today, however, I'm really annoyed. Wasted £10. Don't think I will be back here in a hurry. I suggest management deal with the staffing issue and maybe go through some customer service training with them. I dont mind them having a laugh and a joke but I think a certain level of decorum should be exercised in front...

Came at 12:20 shop did not have any customers and ordered a milk chocolate Egette . Staff friendly and Polite , think the lady wasn’t sure how to make it as she had to ask the gentlemen who was fixing the speaker to get the waffle out the machine for her as it wa stuck . Took ten minutes don’t know if they had to start again

My waffle was a bit burnt and crispy but edible . However , apart from the chocolate flakes on the cream I don’t think there was any actual milk chocolate in the bubbles itself ; which last time there was and it had a much nicer texture .

Wasn’t as nice as last time I came , was a little upset but we were in a rush to get on motorway.

Edit : Thankyou to the owner for getting back to me and appreciating my feedback . I do not expect anything for free as I do not wish to take away from a small business , your honesty and quick reply is really nice to see I just wanted to leave a review so it can be better for the next time .

I’ve come to here a few times with my friend and we’ve loved the food and drinks. HOWEVER it takes forever to come out. we went recently and I would have understood if there were many orders before us, but we were the ONLY ONES in store and waited 30 mins for 2 drinks. How is that possible!? After waiting that long we then found out nothing had been mixed. We had a clump of biscoff at the bottom that hadn’t been mixed in, alongside the straw was far too small for the cup. I don’t understand how a drink can take over 30 minutes to make and NOT BE DONE WELL. Would no longer recommend this place, waste of money. Very...
